The Rolling Stones / Paint It Black / 9 year old Olly on guitar / practice with grandad / talented

Watch Olly practicing Paint It Black with grandad. Lots of little bits to work on then hopefully we can make a nice video with effects.

Olly is working hard after school and sometimes even before school.

  1. i'm wondering how
    long olly's been
    learning to play this
    song from scratch…
    i'm imagining that
    a lot of the song's
    chords are repeated
    throughout and
that most of it is just
    a variation on a
    theme…so fairly easy
    for him to learn…
    imitate…play by ear…
    can olly improvise…
    his choice of
    music to play is
    quite unusual…
    mainly sixties easy-
    listening type stuff…
    grandpa's influence
    maybe…other
    musical genres to
    follow…like olly plays
    the blues…before
    school sounds
    a tough call to make…
    you've got to be
    dedicated to put
    in that sort of effort…
    he looks very calm
    and concentrated
    when he plays…
    which is key to
    success in any of
    life's many ventures…
    i enjoyed this warts-
    and-all practice
    sessions video
    of guitar star olly…
    thanks to the powers
    that be for posting…
    gouranga…be happy!!

  3. It's great to see you playing without looking at the frets to see where your fingers are Olly. Definitely getting better as the days go by. Keep it up, and you'll be the star you were born to be..
