  1. Dire misfortune seems like it has a similar impact on your damage as support fire, except it only applies when you hit with a doom-applying attack, the damage increase is something, but it's kind of just something you take after you have the rest of your doom build online

  2. You move from 271 to 524 getting dire + pom on special (218 to 224), it sounds like too much looking at the boon description doesn’t it ?
Difference between common and epic in raw numbers is small for sure, but it’s still a 40% increase ! It may do quite a difference…
Considering it gave you around +250, epic would have given you +100 more (jumping you from 271 to 624 against the witches)… Impending at 115% would then be 215 more, and a crit about 645. Could have made the big numbers close to 7k in the hades fight probably.

  3. I basically think that if you enjoy going for hyper-specific build paths then dire misfortune is the more fun one to chance upon a perfect build for; hence why some people would rather go for it – they play that way and don't mind crashing out with a weak build sometimes.

If you're the kind of person who wants every run to have the strongest build it possibly can (within it's rng), you're much more inclined to go for impending doom because of the more guaranteed/less conditional damage boost. I play this way because I can't help but min/max in the moment.
