Friends, our first reading from the book of Wisdom makes an extraordinarily important observation that’s of both theological and philosophical significance—namely, that the very fact that something exists means that it has been loved into being. In light of that, we can read our famous Gospel about Zacchaeus as a story of the infinite love and mercy of God pouring into someone’s life—and the conversion that follows.

Dear GOD, I pray that YOU guide my steps as Im entering a new week and a new month. There is a lot going on right now but I will not be lead by worry but by YOUR Spirit. Ive learned that I cant control everything but I can control my faith and I know that with YOU all things work out for my good and YOUR glory. May YOU open up every door that needs to be opened and close every door that needs to be closed. I will try my best to embrace every trials and tests just like Jesus, for I know that weapons will form but they will not prosper. May my relationships be filled with love. I pray that when people see me they see YOU shining thru. Thank you, GOD, for everything YOU've done, especially for the things I dont know about.

Those of us who came out of the Jesus Movement of the early 1970s can testify to the transformation that took place for many who were spiritually scruffy, sometimes aimless but searching. We encountered Jesus and he slowly began to take over the whole house. The Holy Spirit began to clean house…old habits started to drop off as the Word of God took root. Soon, it was no longer, can I still smoke cigarettes and be a disciple? It began to center around matters of the heart. Can I show mercy to someone who was rude to me? Can I serve those around me without complaining? It is 50 years later now, and even though I have not always followed as nearly and dearly as I thought I would…. God….rich in mercy and love…has dogged my steps (the Hound of Heaven)…He brought me back when I went astray. And this time in my life, walking in Faith, is richer than ever. Rest in His Love, but keep working. If you are alive, He has something for you, sisters and brothers. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🌏🌍🌎 Keep the Faith. It’s SO worth it. Hallelujah. 🖐 ✝️

Oh, thank GOD for this message…my heart is broken for my son, who’s been chasing everything but GOD! My foster daughters, who I poured my heart and soul out to give them the opportunity to see GOD! They’re both seemingly trapped by their family legacy of brokenness and addiction…thank you, Bishop for reminding me HIS love is greater…and has NO QUIT!!

The way Bishop Barron describes Zaccheus reminds me of a "slick businessman" whose intentions are focused on making money by selling people shoddy products that have high "return on investment." I'm thinking of "high carb snacks that are convenient but don't fill my hunger.
Thank you Bishop Barron for another "eye opening" sermon, to describe to us God's "infinite love" for us, His children. And thank you for encouraging us not to feel judged by others, especially those who act like "the Pharisees of today."

Likely we will never meet on this side of eternity. But I have always appreciated your teaching even though I am not Catholic. In fact, I have even used your teaching on the Lord's Prayer in a confirmation class.
But Bishop, life has been hard for me recently. But in the difficulty, I see the work of God's hand. And God is working through you.
I have never felt loved. I wrestle and struggle with being loved, with knowing or thinking I could be loved.
But I am finally starting to get it. God actually loves us. He loves us freely and not just as a constraint of His nature.
He was not constrained to love us into being, and yet here we are and we continue. Because of His continual willed love.

For God so loved the babies of Sodom that he, what? burnt them to death! I content that Bishop Barron is engaging in Thomas Aquinas argument of sophistry where "need" does not mean "need" and God is not that which none greater can be imagined.
We have surpassed God. As a parent surpasses their child, and the choir boy goes on to surpass their Bishop. And Bishop Barron has surpassed Thomas Aquinas; easily.
I believe there are no accidental details in the Bible especially a writer like Luke. Why does Luke say Zacheus climbed a sycamore tree?

The undiscovered existence of His Love and Grace.
The omnipresence of the Lord.
Realizing that everything is one.

❤Bishop Baron. Love your weekly Sermons. They inspire me and help me to understand some of the reading when I try to make heads or tails out of what they mean. Not to be facetious but why did God call into existence mosquitoes ?? Just a small thought.

I saw that this posted maybe on Friday? Saw it then, saw it on Sunday, which is when I would have listened to it, but just listened to it now, on Wednesday. God knew I needed this this morning and waited for the right time for me to absorb every word of this.
