So what decade were you transcribing music for record companies? That is funny because I used to get the rock and pop albums and Best of Billboard charts cassette tapes in India during my mid teens in the 80s and lot of original albums and tapes ( usually economy editions meant for Asian markets to encourage people to buy legit music vs pirated cassette tapes) came with lyrics insert in the jacket behind the cover. The ones that don’t, you can usually get lyrics pamphlets for a bunch of Billboard chart hits for a small price. I am surprised the record labels have to reinvent the wheel in S. Korea.
The screw-in type bulbs are the typical E-26/E-27 sockets in North America. Malaysia and other former colonies use the B22 socket for bulbs and you can’t screw them in. It has notches on the receptacles and the bulbs have those small prongs and you insert and glue it like a quarter twist until the bulb snaps into place in the receptacle. And Malaysia uses 220-240 v supply vs 110 v. And the bulb you had was a compact fluorescent which mostly disappeared now in North America for LED bulbs. Compact Flourescents were a energy efficient stop gap between incandescents and LEDs.
Just watch your vlog
Not sure if you could my other comment because I pasted a link to another YouTube video about a comedian talking about "Misheard Lyrics Peter Kay". Search YouTube with the text in quotes.
From where you are you get on the lrt to Hang Tuah and switch to the monorail line same name ie Hang Tuah monorail station.
Take MRT Pasar Seni to Bukit Bintang to go to Bukit Bintang area, including Berjaya Time Square
8:00 how did you decide what to charge them? Or did they present you a budget?
I'm a subscriber and very intrigued by your real life analysis of Malaysia etc
Shake x3 shake your booty….in the shower of course.
1 hr plus of non-stop talking, wow!
Sounds like the soup Nazi episode from Seinfeld
Good to know you met Bill (with his towel 😄). When he changed his channel's name, I almost not recognize it.
The great Rambler.
Yeah!! Seems you are back to full Doug mode except may be spending too much time on 360 camera footage!
I assume that you paid the waiter who was helpful to you since you did not talk about the paying bill on your breakfast.
Lets see if you solve the keycard (extra) issue and the bulb replacement? Next rambling video perhaps.
Cheers mate and have a good time.
Hi Doug, thanks for this video. It was not a good idea using the chair and the stool but now I also know about that strange light fitting. I would never have guessed!
Are you gaining weight when you are in Malaysia?
I was watching your video with Darryl in his work place from a couple of weeks ago. Man, you must have worked some crappy jobs lol
I worked in the tech industry for 25 years and the concept of showing up at a specific time and clocking in and all that is completely alien to me. That’s what I’d call a 8-5 desk jockey job.
Nobody in the tech industry pays you for face time or how long you are in your seat lol You work projects and targets on deadlines. I am a late riser and usually will go in between 10-11 am if at all or just work from home and call in for meetings. Laptops have VPNs to get into the company network.
I wouldn’t last a week in a job where you have to show up and clock in ( well, no one clocked in where I worked). Doesn’t mean you have easy work. It’s just a job that doesn’t get done by showing up at 8 am or 9 am.
Darryl looks too dressy compared to how I went into work. Shorts, Tees and Beach Sandals were my standard workwear lol. Of course I worked in a much bigger company and everyone had a cubicle with grey walls and it’s a 10×8 space. People go and work out of the cafeteria or outside the cafeteria all the time. Free coffee, snacks, soft drinks and all that and they have cafeteria staff who kept it going.
Also big screen TVs strategically located in 3 or 4 different spots and you can always see people of certain nationalities around the TV during football and cricket World Cups with the laptop lol
Yeah, conventional work environment is an alien concept in the tech industry. Later on, they even tried community workspaces where they got rid of assigned cubicles and made it free for all where you just walk in, plug in your laptop and work from an empty cubicle.
Tech industry doesn’t pay for you to be in the office or in your seat. Lot of people would stay home if their kid is sick or school holiday or pick up kids from school etc and there is constantly people doing in and out and nobody is gate keeping ( well, except corporate security which makes sure you have the credentials and badge to swipe in)
Lol I’d laugh if someone told me I have to be at work at certain time or work so many hours. Never gotten used to that concept and tech industry is one place where that concept is alien, along with any kind of dress code.
A guy in a suit or even a dress shirt and tie is usually an external vendor and you can usually spot them just by the way they are dressed lol
I appreciate the amount of work you put on producing videos on your channel. Thanks to all the gifts from your subscribers, your video footage has significantly improved. Your talent for story telling is what got me hooked on this channel in the first place.
perfect Podcasts for me. while cleaning the house or something i listen to this kind of your vlogs.
