Hi friends, I hope you enjoy this wild and incredible story. To address a technical aspect I’m sure a few commenters will point out 🤓🫶 depending on how you measure and which source you find, another island “Tristan Da Cunha” has claimed to be most remote. That’s because it’s 7-day boat ride to the nearest airport instead of the 4-day trip it took me to Pitcairn. But if you measure distance from closest continent, Pitcairn blows them all out of the park. Ultimately, Pitcairn’s unbelievable story is what made me chose to go there, you all know by now that a 7-day boat trip wouldn’t scare me away if the stronger story was on the other island. l loved this travelogue. I've studied remote islands through philately (stamp collecting) since I was a kid in Minnesota. Pitcairn, Tristan da Cunha, St Helena, Ascension, and tiny Dutch Saba in the Caribbean were my focus. I have been president of the two study groups focusing on Pitcairn and the three South Atlantic isles through their history and postal service. At 73 now, I moved to Saba a few years ago and host tourists in my 164 year old original cottage to fulfill my dream of living on a remote island. We aren't as remote as Pitcairn or Tristan, but we do have an unusual claim: our pharmacist is Jacqui Christian…from Pitcairn Island!
Come to Saba some day, stay with me, and you'll discover a fascinating history here, almost as good as a mutiny! Certainly our little dot is a drone photographer's delight for dramatic footage similar to Pitcairn.

Having spent months on a tiny island in the South Pacific 1x.5 miles in size you learn to appreciate the small things it’s something deep that takes you to a primal place and you realize how little you need to be happy. You learn to socialize better because it’s isolation and the companionship is closer to the top of the items needed. It makes life precious and appreciated and in my case I hoped all people could experience it.
I appreciate you Thomas for being the face of Yes Theory recently:) although I miss seeing all of you guys going out on adventures I know this is part of the journey and I hope you continue doing what you’re doing.

You're a liar. I believe that Tristan da Cunha is more isolated.
So how do they generate the money to buy supplies and imports materials to built such a large community? Edit googled it they mainly have govt jobs plus the sale of postage stamps and fresh produce to passing cruise ships and landing fees. They grow most of their own food as a community and fishing is an important staple .

Absolutely incredible. Mayybe one day ill be able to have a glimpse into the travelling history that you have got to the pleasure to receive over the years. Its crazy to think im just 2 years older than you and it feels like ive never got to enjoy the pleasures of adventures you guys have had. Much love from canada.

I had the privilege to visit Pitcairn in 1989 on a ship M V Trudy, we dropped Lloyd Buckley back to the Island. He was island administrator. What a stunning location, the folks on the island were very friendly and we arranged trades of diesel for crayfish etc. Had the distinct honour to meet Tom Christian who has since passed away. My most memorable experience from nearly 20 year career at sea.
I love being able to live vicariously through y'all
