Diverting troops to the northern border of Ukraine is the aim of Russians, thereby reducing forces available in the " annexed " regions. Next I suspect they will do lightning raids along other parts of the border, or at least shell them randomly.

The latter is the poorest, most corrupt country in Europe, has 123th place in the world by economic freedom. No surprise, it is even unable to protect its borders well. Fixed defense requires less manpower than offensive operations. Further the terrain of northern Ukraine is better suited to defense. So if Russia is going to attempt another northern incursion then it best prepare for a repeat performance as what is the definition of insanity as the saying goes: "doing the same thing over and over again – but expecting a different result." π€

Ukraine NATO and the west are not just fighting Russia. They are fighting the Communist Chinese Party aka (CCP). Russia like North Korea are the Communist Chinese Party proxy army's. There is more to this then anyone wants to admit. The CCP is the real problem in this matter, and sanctions need to be level against them also.

I can understand why Ukraine is adding reinforcements to the border with what the intelligence is reporting….My question is why wait for the attack? Take the initiative and preemptively strike to break- up the Russian forces preparing yo attack!
