Sforzando is a 2 week orphan Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was rescued after he was found on the ground in a suburban street, on the grass beside the road. A lovely MOP picked him up with gloves and put him into a box until I arrived.
Heโs doing really well in care now: YAY a survivor.
Poggi, who an orphan male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox, around the same age as Sforzando (2ish weeks). He was found on his dead mum on a suburban road. I donโt think they were on powerlines because the wires along that street are bundled together; itโs more likely that Mumbat was hit by a car.
Poggi has had a rough few days in care and has been very squidgy, but heโs slowly coming good.
We have so many babies coming into care, that we are doing some long distance transporting to country carers who have no baby rescues happening in their territory. Poggi and Sforzando will both be travelling north to the Demented Pixieโs cohort of carers.
The name Sforzando is from a musical term meaning โplayed with forced emphasisโ. Our little Sforzando was was quite forcefully unhappy about being rescued by the ugly wingless giant, but he settled down.
The name Poggi is from the musical term for a kind of grace note called an appoggiatura.

Maggie your 'do looks wonderful.Meg, you are as always a sight for sore ears girl. Can't tell you ladies how very much the two of you with the babies soothes my soul. Thankyou again and again. Love from Nora, Boston, MA USA
I just love the milk coma stage! ๐ผ๐ต๐ผ
bless my heart! look at that beautiful baby ๐ฅฐ
Zando has the most beautiful colouration, and a very expressive face. He is all points and angles, and a definite wiggle bum. Poggi just seemed very happy to drift in his milk coma and let Zando steal the show.
Glad to hear they are both doing well, and that Poggi is feeling less squidgee than he was. Iโm sure the sudden and tumultuous life change, going from their Mums to big pink humans must be rather scary at first, but they seem to adapt quickly.
I must agree, everything does seem harder as the years add up. Loving Maggieโs new lookโฆvery elegant. Just listening to you two banter while watching sweet little baby bats puts a smile on my face.๐ค๐จ๐ฆ
Your hair looks STUNNING!
The babies are so adorably cute ๐ ๐ ๐
Those are lil hungry bebbe batties… ๐๐๐๐ค๐ฆ๐ฆbtw hair cut is adorbs on you Maggie… ๐๐
Love when Meg and Maggie are together taking care of babies. Maggie I love your haircut and it's perfect specially when you have your hands full of batties. I was waiting for the usual batty effluence on Maggie as usually she has the misfortune of being peed or pooped on. Today I see the batties behaved well. Yay.
Sforzando aka squid is so adorable w/tiny bottle!๐ค๐ฆ๐Thankfully a kind MOP noticed him. So sorry about Poggi's Mom๐ Both baby boys are in the BEST care, THANK YOU Meg & Maggie, who's new hairstyle looks great!๐
I love the little ridges on their ears. Maggie, your haircut looks wonderful! ๐
I love these wee babies.
I looked up appoggiatura and still don't understand it. Like Poggi better, ๐

Great look Maggie, very lovely cut
Maggie's hair is adorable!
'Appoggiatura' – Well your baby-naming superpower surpassed itself there Meg. I learned something new too, a musical term (though not being able to read music, I'm still not at all sure what it means!) Never fear, it will be very useful for future rounds of 'Scrabble' (thank you kindly!)
Loved the latest enthralling edition of 'The Meg & Maggie Show'. Seeing the babies getting some Maggie love, as Meg provides her witty commentary, is always an utter joy! (Btw great new hairdo Maggie – every girl needs a fabulous gay hairdresser in her life).
The bubbas are thriving in your care, as always, so completely adorable you can totally see why their mothers love them. I'm kinda sad you were about to hand them over to another carer, they were so contented with you. But I realise I'm being sentimental, and this is a process you have precisely and beautifully arranged to their best advantage.
We're properly into Autumn here in England, with an occasional, slight nip in the air promising Winter to come. Which means you are now negotiating Summer, which I know from a 17 years ago working holiday in Australia, can get fierce (especially around Port Douglas). Hope you manage to stay cool during all these baby (and adult) rescues. I am still agog at your lack of vertigo on the recent sad rescue of the bat entangled in the TV aerial Meg. What a fantastic job you did, I am in awe of your can-do spirit!
The 'Megabattie' channel goes from strength to strength. Hope you are now fully over your past health/hospital issues – your mountain-goat climbing skills suggest you are, but do take very good care of yourself with good food and quality sleep (and of course, some medicinal champagne/prosecco). Much love from the UK. XXX
Bloody gorgeous ๐
Meg I like your pronouncetion of Italian" Appoggiatura" with your aussie accent!! Such a naming superpower!!!!! It's a cute video with these little ones eating with you and Maggie(such beautiful hair!!!) These babies are orphans but with you and Maggie and other carers they have all that they need to be happy batties. Poggi is a surname ( in Genoa, my country๐)
Sforzando: an Italian name๐ฎ๐น๐ฅฐ
They are adorable, and you both, dear ladies, are too!๐ฅฐ๐๐น๐บLove to watch your videos and all the loving care you give to these beautiful little creatures!๐๐Thank you!โคโค
You two ladies are awesome!!
Maggie, love your new hair do.
๐๐
Love the hair Maggie and the banter with my favorite Batty babes
How much milk do they get at each feed and how many times a day. It looks so small.
They are just little miniature angels๐
Maggie, I have been a hairstylist for 44 yrs and I love your haircut!!
You guys are awesome ๐. Zando is adorable! And if Poggy (Pojjy?) โs ear is any indication, he is shaping up well too.
Thank you for making the world a little bit better place to be.
I always love the head bobs
God bless u both !No one would take such love and kindness and special care of these misunderstand ๐ถ puppy. Much love from the ๐บ๐ธ u.s.
