I had just gotten home from work locked my jeep up and set the alarm and went in took a shower and ate Dinner and was almost asleep and my alarm was going off got up and went out to check and had a guy sitting in my driver seat trying to Jimmy the switch I yelled excuse me but thats my vehicle and you have no business in it he said I'm sorry I thought it was mine he tried to run and I pulled my 9mm and told him to lay down with his hands out and don't move and held him till the police got there turns out he had stolen 6 other vehicles and was wanted and I got a 1,000 dollar reward for capturing him.
Around here thieves want a battery they do break into your car or truck pop the hood. Snip wires car flashes I guess until the either un bolt the battery or cut the wires. The weird part is they shut n lock everything back up gone. Ready for work nothing works. Big expensive mess. No body was ever caught. Yes they messed the power to steal copper. These thieves know which lines are hot.verses not. If they go after your ac unit for the copper your out what ever damage they do. And any gps units they steal if your not from around here gone. The police take a theft report give you false hope go buy another unit.
Use battery backup on the camera stuff! Like a UPS with at least 1-2 hours of power time. Might connect it to the generator too when UPS battery powers off. For redundancy
Poor Bill… If it happens again, welcome to Ford security system flaws! Cause they have tons of sensors that can and will go wrong and they become a nightmare to deal with! You might have to resort to just locking the vehicle manually and forget the security crap. I had a ranger that you could not arm the security system without the thing constantly setting its self off.
Hey bill with every car truck going electric u won't hear shit if they want your trailer no sound nothing they will.get it as u sleeping, you go to work think nothing of it till 1hr at work, then u say something not right you go back home look around c nothing then u look where the trailer was and go wtf is my trailer lol. here in Hamilton , in my area there was a bunch of f-250 getting stolen and trailers we had like 6 in one area. so cops started hiding in the areas where there where them trucks and trailers at peoples houses and ya busted a few , and found out where they stored them + they found money weapons and drugs where all was stored. crazy, and busted LOTS of people . technology is cool and all but I just don't trust it at all. id take a old car over this crazy new stuff. lol
They use signal repeaters for keyless vehicles here in the UK. A receiver is placed around the front door of your house, It detects the signal from the key fob and sends it to a second unit which they hold near the vehicle and it relays the signal to the car which lets them in and start the engine. They can then drive the car off and have it re programmed to different fobs. A lot of manufactures are now making the keyless car fobs sensitive to movement so they switch off after x amount of time with no movement so they can't detect the signal.
As for the thieving scumbag population, its getting really bad out there. Work colleague had his van nicked outside our depot Christmas gone, He was stood 3 meters away talking when they jumped in the passenger door and drove off with it. By the time they heard the sound of the door close it was already too late to do anything. Would have loved to have seen their face when they opened the back doors to see the van was empty and hadn't been loaded yet!
Hey Bill, I would recommend a hidden kill switch preferably connected to the fuel pump. Easy to install and very effective! Can't take a car if it can't get gas to start..
Our Ford ranger did that about 2 weeks ago in the middle of the night but we never had a black out thay have movement detention built as that is what came up on my cellphone but yes I do love the remote start from the phone
You might want to check with your dealer I found out the hard way there is a system in my 2016 F250 6.7 called the P.A.T.S. (Passive Anti Theft System). I had an electrical problem with mine and when I tried to have it towed to the dealer this system cut in because both batteries were dead locking the transmission, steering, and ignition switch could not turn key . When the flatbed got here they had to drag it on, thank god it was raining, did no damage. Turns out the module for the bluetooth had burned out and put a 1.5 AMP draw 24-7 on the batteries over a weekend I didn't drive it so glad it happened in my driveway the tow was only 10 miles. Good luck
I own a 2020f150 my alarm went off 3 nights in a row , it ended up being a bad hood latch that triggered the alarm. I only had 36300 miles and it figures warranty stopped at 36000.
My dad has 01 f350 and one night at 2am the horn started going off like someone was pushing the horn on the wheel and couldn't get it to stop until he pulled a fuse so now the horn hasn't worked since lol.
You have as sign in your shed referring to the ownership of a firearm and a backhoe. Might want to put that sign out in your personal area of the property. And park the backhoe next to your truck to reinforce the sign's message.😆 I belive the criminal has to be near you when you activate your FOB. At that time, your FOB sends out the signal and your truck and the criminal receives it.
20 years ago some kids broke the driver side window on my truck topper. They didn't steal anything because I had just cleaned it out getting it ready for my friend to move. The worst part about the whole ordeal was that I never locked my truck topper, so all they had to do was open the back glass and would have seen it was empty. We found out few years later from our neighbor whose daughters boyfriend was by then in jail that he was the one who broke the driver side window because he couldn't steal anything.

There was a video where they showed vehicle thefts in Canada by African dudes…Then shipped to Africa. Very high tech crooks.

Check with Ford, you may need to flash your Body Control Module.

Bill get a ups to run your camera system and get it hooked in also when you switch to generator power.
You could get a UPS for your cameras and/or a automatic generator changeover switch.
