My experience with alignment of my thorens , there is a slight difference between the use of thorens gauge and the correct Barewald Protractor. So which one to use?
Thank you for the video, Tim. I was looking to replace the belt on my circa 1983 Thorens TD147. I think you nailed it with the Thorens part number 6800574. Ordered one today in hopes that it will fit the same as your TD160!
Love your videos, as I recently brought my TD 145 MK II out of storage and am in the process of tuning it up. In the 45 years I have owned it, I never lubricated the bearings. I checked the spin of the sub-platter as you do in the video, and it spins just like yours does after lubricating. Should I still go ahead and lubricate? Also, mine doesn't auto-lift at the end of a record, I don't recall whether it ever did. Were all 145s made with auto-lift? If so, can you do a video on checking that?
