I think Musk stated costs without profit runs about $20 million per month.
I'm a big fan of Elon. But sometimes he puts his foot in his mouth. However, when he is not being obnoxious, he has a good heart. Here are things he has done lately:
1) He donated $5.7 billion to UN food program during the pandemic to ease world hunger.
2) Provide free Starlink internet service for Ukraine worth hundreds of millions.
3) Help solve Australia's power crisis.
4) Help Flint Michigan waster crisis.
5) Provide solar power to Puerto Rico after 2017 hurricane.

The closest competitor would be OneWeb, but I doubt they'll offer better price or service than Starlink.
I'm still remember 2y ago when SpaceX start developing Starlink and many people laugh at them. Today Starlink went beyond just a service from private company, into necessity of life in Ukraine.

Elon Musk is trying to be a real peace maker and actually prolong a healthy environment and to stop the USA and UK greedy MP's and war mongering generals fighting for something futile such as money and power. These MP's and war generals are nothing but dinosaur's that should be made extinct and the Musk's and Bezos should and will be running the world very soon!
This isn’t entirely accurate. The goal isn’t to replace undersea cables. It’s more about providing service to remote areas, rural areas, over the ocean and in flight.
They really aren’t very small. A CubeSat is very small. Starlink satellites are about 3m when folded for launch and weigh about 300Kg.
Also, SpaceX has estimated the first 12,000 satellites development and launch will cost around $10b. They’ve probably spent $3-4b so far launching just over 3000 satellites.
They didn’t move any satellites over Ukraine. The satellites all move in set orbital planes.
