Why Only an IDIOT Would Visit Las Vegas Right Now

Las Vegas has a long reputation for being the best place to take a vacation. Unfortunately, over the years it has become more common for tourists to feel like coming to sin city is a scam and a rip off. There have been a lot of changes in Las Vegas from its early days. Prices of flights, food, shows, clubs, etc. all becoming more expensive, more concerns about safety and the crime rate, and seeing more homeless people in the tourist corridor (the strip and downtown Fremont Street Experience area) are just some of the things that have people concerned about the value of visiting Las Vegas. Add in high inflation and concerns about the overall U.S. economy, and it’s understandable that Vegas may be in for some rough years ahead.

  1. I hate the hotel resort fees. Especially when all I do is use that place to sleep. I'm not accessing the pool or a spa. They should apply the fee AFTER you use the resort amenities. Have it tied to your key card. If you use your key card to go to the pool then that triggers the fee. Vegas has gone nuts lately.

  2. I was there in May this year. I did a lot of research before coming this time.. It was my 4th trip and my hubby's second. We really enjoyed ourselves, I looked at several of your videos and a few others so I knew what to expect. We aren't really gamblers, or big drinkers, so that alone saved us a lot of money. We did a day trip on a 14 passenger van to go to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon.. We were picked up at 8:00 am and got back around 5:30. I wanted my husband to see them so he could cross them off his bucket list. I had been already. I also found a hotel that had no gambling, but had microwaves, stoves and refrigerators in the newly refurbished rooms that were completed this past March. We really enjoyed our stay. I had alread known about the girls and others that have their scams going with the photo taking. Found some of the places on this strip that had great prices for their breakfasts, and the holel was in the middle of the strip. The only place that we did not get back to was Fremont..but we had both experienced it. Not only has Vegas changed, but it is still exciting.. it is the people that have changed. It is no longer posh like it used to be at one time. I still say if you have never visited, it is a must see.. just get ready to walk your butt off if you want to see anything. Don't give them all of your money in the casinos and you may see all that it has to offer. A lot of the hotels are just drop off gorgeous !!

  3. I have to say, that except for some conventions I have to attend, I really can't stand Las Vegas. However, I've been binging on your excellent and entertaining videos, and next time I go, I'll try and use your advice to have a little fun in my free time. 🙂

  4. Lived in Vegas from 76 to 86 a Boomtown making $1,000 a week as a carpenter, 49 cent breakfast buffets, lunch buffets five bucks dinner and a show $60.
Lake Mead was at full capacity
drug addicts stayed in North Vegas.

  5. Was driving through Vegas a few days ago and was going to stay for the weekend until I tried booking a room. YIKES!! Doubled prices in less than one year. Hotels are usually cheap because they want you to spend money at the casino. In 2022, it’s pretty ridiculous and we will see it eventually humble. I skipped out on Vegas and went to AZ instead.

  6. Crime is increasing in many cities. Especially Blue States. It's a result of the defund and anti-police movement. They can't enforce the laws anymore and many police have resigned. Criminals have become viewed as the victims and good citizens suffer. If Police do enforce the laws, the Police are targeted. Enforcing laws is now not politically correct. I just came back from NYC and man I'll tell you it's the same way. Complete shhhthole now. I won't be going back any time soon.

  7. I first went to Vegas in 1982. 99cent shrimp cocktails, 99cent Heineken, breakfast $1, all you can eat gourmet dinner $10.00. Yes this is 1982 prices. But even with inflation it was crazy cheap. I miss the Vegas of those days they showed you a good time while took all your money with a velvet glove. Now it a race to see how fast they can take your money and move on to the next "customer".

  8. My grandma lived in LA, I grew up in Utah. Vegas was halfway to Grandma's house. Mom and dad said Vegas went to hell right after they kicked the mafia out. This is Corporate greed. Let's bring Mafia back in, they are more generous

  10. I don't know what you all experienced. My wife and I just did Vegas a few weeks ago. Had an awesome time. Stayed at The MGM grand for a very reasonable price. Can't wait to go again.

  11. I think the increase in violent crime is an indirect result of the whole BLM Antifa "movement." With every Liberal crying out in unison, echoed & amplified by the Leftist media, to "defund the police." Couple that with the forced "Fauxi ouchie" jab for law enforcement personnel, many officers that were at or near their retirement age were first to turn in their papers. These were the most experienced veterans on the force to effectively solve and deter crimes. Then with the forced vaccinations, the second batch of new hires followed suit. Now you have low staffing levels for patrol to deter and effectively catch criminals, let alone to solve crimes. And now Vegas is inundated with out-of-state thugs running rampant and pushing their drugs (most likely fentanyl, which can make a crazy homeless bum stab a tourist in the neck without provocation). Unless the "leaders" turn away from their Liberal agenda that allows criminals to get away with violent crimes (lower prison sentences, citing them out, having to post no bail aka "zero bail" because they're broke!) they will promote more violent crime. In psychology there's this theory called Positive Reinforcement where behavior is tied to reward. If the criminal is frequently allowed to get away with violent crimes, they soon learn that their behavior is rewarded without serious punishment. They can go in and out of jail with impunity.

  12. You are so right on what you said in the video, I refuse to play 6-5 bj and triple 0 is f n nuts!! Roulette is the worst game in vegas (after slots) Corporate america is killing vegas. I go on the casino web sites and usually only gamble at privately owned casinos, not the big corporation. I don't know if this helps, but I feel better. Thanks for the great video!

  13. Airfare from Hawaii is now $500 to over $600 round trip. I used to spend no more than $400 on both flight and hotel. I'm not trying to get nickeled and dimed, also not trying to get stabbed by some random on the strip. I was there in March and from then it seems so much has changed. I'll wait to see if anything changes.

  14. Just returned from Vegas. Did my research. I knew it was going to be expensive, I knew I was going to be nickle and dimed and budgeted appropriately. But, having my money vaporize so rapidly just wasn't fun. And I didn't even gamble!

  15. Everyone who has ever lived in Vegas. Says this about Vegas. 😂 just a revolving door of an idea. Reminds me of the old adage “Vegas was better when it was run by the mob”… still an amazing place to have lived in
