Horseshoe crabs have blue blood and that blood has some impressive properties, so they are "taken" or "kidnapped" by humans which take as much as one-third of that precious blood and, allegedly let them go back into the oceans. Unfortunately, many die during that vampiric process, and there are some pieces of evidence that many are not even bothering to take those poor animals back in their habitat after taking so much blood out of them.
