It was quite fitting that the music in this episode is same theme for Heavy Rex (Wrex?). Also, the name of the big monster based on the World Serpent is pronounced "Yor-men-gone-der"

A long time ago there was a thief who stole everything until one day when he was running from the police he fell in an old cave where he found a genie and a longbox. The genie told the thief he can give him whatever he wants as long as he never ever touches the longbox. So overtime the thief would wish for things that will work and not work until one day he snaps and touched the longbox he opens it and finds horror comics. The Genie found out and was angry with the thief. He cursed the thief to forever guard the longbox as punishment for disobeying him. Eventually the thief got an idea he figured that he will share his pain with everyone so every october the thief would go to town to town for 31 days telling audiences who he called his children the stories in the longbox

Kaiju and horror do go well together, all the way back to King Kong.
It's basically Pacific Rim in comic form.
