We all know that the tyranids are absolutely terrifying. but their sheer unrelenting horror is often diminished when the stories are told by the power armor clad super human warriors, the space marines. so today I have gathered 5 separate Tyranid stories that genuinely sent chills up my spine the first time I read them.

  1. The real dread of a Zoantrope to the likes of "The Doom of Malan' tai" isn't what they did, but what they mean to any being of any realm: The Great Devourer will reclaim everything that is and ever will, regardless of what can and cannot be said about their concepts of existence.

When the endless feast is over, there will be no one capable of telling apart the different realms it vanquished.

  2. what makes being eaten alive by a Tyranid hive ship more terrifying is the fact that IF SOMEHOW you found a way off the ship and out of the hive ship, you'd still die to the cold harsh vacuum of space

  3. “Eyes of the Hivemind”
You know, he had the EXTREMELY rare opportunity to communicate with the total Tyranid hivemind one-on-one in a safe and reliable way there, assuming it could hiss some sort of speech.

  4. Jesus. I knew where the last story was going, I knew how it would end. Just… the way it was told and the way Wes read it just made my skin crawl and my head itch. For just a moment, I felt something on my leg and I kinda freaked out.

  5. Alas, someone telling the story of the Named Tyranid: Doom of Malan'tai. This creature was really concerning at 5th edition, I saw many miniatures die in the table(multiple times) because of him with some combos of zoanthropes and the mycetic spore pod.

  6. I could picture the Doom as being a lord of war or supreme commander roughly in the same style as the Void dragon model (Supersized mutated Zonethrope surrounded by psychic energy) and make it either a super psyker that puts Magnus to shame or offer unique powers in the same vein as C’tan powers.

  7. And to think, you only gave us a slightly amended version cause I'm more than sure this get extremely graphic on the details as most 40K novels will do. Even the Life Eater Virus in Horus Heresy novels is tough to read or listen to with just how grotesque the details get, but it HAS to be to remind you how absolutely horrific, and unforgiving these events are.
