  1. They've treated postmen and postwomen like shit for over 30 years I'm glad I got out when I did, dropping my keks and telling the manager to kiss my ass was the most satisfying thing I've ever done…. UP THE WORKERS ✊✌️

  2. The Royal mail wants to destroy the terms and conditions of postal workers to compete with the gig economy the race 🏁 to the bottom has begun, shameful behaviour by the company

  3. Put the local post people back on pushbikes save a fortune on vans and fuel then they can have a pay increase. Who else has free transport to and from work, scruffy PO vans taking up parking spots all over the country. They could even have ebikes specially made now.

  4. Why mess around with RM when there are plenty of delivery services available that are just as reliable including next day as long as you get it booked in time.Sorry but this lady is not showing much initiative as a business owner.Get on the internet and Google cheap delivery services and loads will come up

  5. The workforce has a justifiable grievance….and yet, business and individuals can quite easily switch to reliable and cheaper courier services. Okay, birthday card from granny won’t be be delivered, but most communication…official, business, services or personal is online now anyway. The last time I sent a parcel by Royal Mail the postage cost me more than the value of the content .

  6. Tell ya what, all them union leaders seem to be preaching socialist values but happy to receive vast amounts of money just like the bosses, makes you wonder which side they are really on?

  7. Striking should be made illegal.. if people are not happy with their jobs they should leave and go work elsewhere.. this is why Dubai has overtaken UK in many categories, we dont have these silly rules

  8. BLAME TONY BLAIR for the losses.
He opened-up the market for the most profitable delivery elements of getting post and packages from A to B and left Royal Mail with the responsibility of delivering to every address in The UK. Losses? What else do you expect to happen?

  9. As I have said before these posties are on a pretty good deal. I work in transport if I have a good day and finish early then my boss gives me more work to use up my hours.
With royal mail if you finish your run early then you get paid extra to do that extra work.
Royal mail staff have 3 weeks sick pay that most staff take and its accepted by the bosses EVERY YEAR.
A while ago RM tried to cut the sick leave by organising 10 lotteries around the UK with top prizes of cars for the winners. To take part in the lottery you had to have used NO sick leave that year. Only 5% of the posties could enter the lottery, 95% had too much sick leave.
Ask the posties about their pension. It's a full pay pension.
A new depot was opened at Crick in Northamptonshire was opened and 5 old sorting offices were closed and the staff relocated to Crick. Every person that relocated to Crick were paid 5 years travelling expenses for their travelling to and from home. No car…. Don't worry RM provided 14 minibuses free to staff for 5 years.
Because of the strike there will be tons of mail that hasn't been sorted. The staff, agreed by unions, will get DOUBLE Pay to sort the mail that their strike caused. But because the mail hasn't been sorted and moved at the end of the strike they will get at least 8hrz of double pay waiting for the mail to be moved to the sorting office.
I've got loads of other "interesting facts" about RM, as I worked for them for 5yrs as an agency driver. Would never work with the staff as they were as radical as the miners. The unions run RM not the management. Any decision had to be agreed by union officials(if you could find them they were usually at home)

  10. Whilst I empathise with the postal workers, I agree with the comments on here for that brownie business …. get them couriered – at a much lower cost – the courier will collect from your premises.

  11. 10,000 jobs to be axed now and it serves them right. I have no sympathy for them and I hope British Rail is next. Now if only we could axe MP's and get rid of their uselessness, Britain could become a better place.

  12. I was working for Royal Mail when it lost monopoly and Moyà Greene (Google what she did to Canada post) all under the Labour government, we was delivering rival companies mail at a loss to Royal Mail and the union and the bosses told us it was good business sense, people can try and blame the tories for selling Royal Mail but remember it started under Labour, Royal Mail is an ageing dinosaur who’s best days are well behind it, the humane thing to do it is put it down
