  1. I remember seeing one of these around town in the early 70's. It was red, white and blue, and had custom dual exhaust sidepipes that went along each side of the car, maybe 4 inches of road clearance. I wish Honda would bring these back, It would be so much fun to drive around town and no less safe than riding a motorcycle.

  2. Europe currently has about 550 million inhabitants, of which 5.5 million (1 out of 100) live in Scotland, so they can hardly be counted representative, especially considering how proverbially infamous they are in the rest of Europe for not spending any money, only surpassed by the Dutch in that respect.
The days cars, or motorcycles, were prized possessions in Europe ended roughly around 1950, when Europe became a consumer society exactly like Murica.
11.75 million vehicles were sold in 2021 in the EU alone, which is more new vehicles per capita than in the USA. The average lifespan of a car in the EU is 11.8 years, compared with 12.1 years in the USA (2021).

I suggest you visit Europe (not Scotland) to understand. It is about time you take off the sepia tinted spectacles and see what is going on.

    Nice little Honda though.

  3. I’ve one affectionately named the green egg. My brother calls it my clown car😂. I love it around town. It’s a purpose built city car. The handling is impressive. There’s YouTube videos where engines have been swapped for modern Honda motorcycle engines and even one with a 😅Hayabusa! Besides disc brakes in front they didn’t mention that it’s also chain driven and has rack and pinion steering.

  4. In 1967, I was looking for a car and I went to a Dodge dealer. They said if I agreed to buy a dodge, they would also give me another car, a Japanese car! It was very small and odd looking, it was called a Subaru.

  5. Back in the 1970’s, my neighbor had a Honda like this one. It was orange. My first car in 1974 was a 1974 Honda Civic hatchback. 4 speed. 1200cc engine. 12 inch tires. $2800 out the door. Sold it 6 years later for $2500 after I bought a 1980 Accord LX hatchback.

  6. Sad that this father son really aren’t intimately familiar with the car. I suspect neither have gotten their hands dirty working on it – together. Some father/son project -:(

  7. I began high school in 1970, and began looking at this Honda, as my first car. VW Beetles were everywhere, and plenty cheap. This Honda sat lower than a VW Bug,….which almost towered over it. I was able to test drive many of them,…private owners were very generous back in the day. I am small man, so this car seemed perfect at the time. But as I began to think it through, I remembered I had enjoyed slightly larger sub-compact cars, because I often had things I needed to transport. I was lucky to find an English import, that was a German manufactured car, called the Opel Kadett. Some local Buick dealerships, imported them, for the US market in Ohio. The one I got was a "fast back", and the LS model. (Luxury Sedan). It was an awesome car, and I kept it until the doors rotted out, of the door frames.

  8. I went to the 1971 Chicago Auto Show when I was 9 and sat in one of these cars. Same model, only bright orange, I thought it was so cool. Now, I drive a 2021 Insight that I just love . 50+ MPG and much larger.

  9. There is another one in Pasadena. Not anywhere nice as this but it has been sitting in a yard on Chester between Colorado and Union. It is orange. You cannot miss it. It has been there for years

  10. I saw these new on a small lot in LOng Beach, Ca back in 1972. Then they disappered. Dad (a mechanic) said at the time they failed to achieve a certain necessary speed for Calif. freeways? and therefore were not "road worthy". I imagined a luggage handle and "Arnold" just picking it up and walking away with it. !!
