Russia’s Kremlin has launched an extensive campaign for new recruits to join the Ukraine war effort.
Russia does not give numbers, but Western officials say between 70,000 and 80,000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded since it launched its invasion six months ago.
In order to attract fresh recruits, the authorities are offering volunteers huge sums of money, plots of land and even premium places for their children in Russian schools.
Recruiters have even been visiting Russian prisons to sign up inmates, promising them freedom and money.

Regarding his comment that Russian soldiers are very resilient like they were in WW2. Yes, very true, but this is more like WW1, where Russian soldiers were fighting in foreign land and mother Russia was not being invaded, and they were slaughtered by German soldiers on German and Polish land. Thus, no motivation to fight in WW1 and no motivation to fight now. Therefore, expect continued Russian losses, but bigger since Russia has lost it's best soldiers that will be replaced by inexperienced civilians in uniform looking to surrender ASAP.

The WWII analogy about Russian resilience doesn't hold with their unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. In WWII, Russian soldiers were defending "Mother Russia." Today, the Ukrainians are defending their homeland against invaders who really have little or no idea why they're there (de-Nazification doesn't really hold any weight, as things have worked out). And in WWII, you didn't need microprocessors in your weapons systems. It was dumb and brute force against more dumb and brute force. As Stalin pointed out, "Quantity has a quality all its own." It really shows that Western force is scalpel sharp (Javelin, Excaliber HIMARS), while so much of Russian force is back to being dumb, no matter the "scary" names they have for their weapons. Western weapons can take out a command post or battery of howitzers with four or five shells. Russians instead aim missiles and artillery shells at "area targets": city centers, shopping malls, apartment complexes, and so on, hoping for hits. And it's not just the "chips" that make the difference. Russian soldiers were motivated in WWII (fighting evil); in Ukraine, they're not (they're evil).
