  1. The tour guides son posted sus things on the internet. I can't remember the details. I think it was making fun of their deaths, implying murder too. Someone can correct me. 👍

  2. First of all, the town is called "Boh-KETT-ay", which is standard Spanish pronunciation. There have been a number of YT channels and documentaries that have examined this incident. Since I live in the area, I have wanted to learn as much as I can. I believe one girl, probably Kris, slipped and fell into one of the many steep crevices in the mountains, probably broke a bone in the process. At first, they tried calling emergency numbers in Holland, then Panama. But the area is unpopulated and not reachable by cell towers. Lisanne promised Kris she wouldn't leave her but her cries for help went unheard. She took photos, I believe, to try to document where they were and some "blank" photos may have been an attempt to signal their location for search planes. (see reply for Part 2)

  3. I don't think the escaped cartel guy did it. He would be on the run, probably no place to stop and get lye or hold the girls hostage. The tour guide sounds more logical. He would have known where he could keep and assault them, as well as where to dump the bodies. He also lived in a farming village so he would be able to find lye, use a laptop to go thru the pictures on the phone, and because of his reputation he has a persona in the village as the helpful and knowledgeable guide. Bet if the dig on his property they would find bones.

  4. There is a website constantly updated by a Dutch girls on this topic, it's believed the girls returned from hike but were taken to another location probably under the disguise of lift, where they met foul play. Tour guides son may be involved but I would say definitely more than one person.

  5. Almost nothing you say matches the evidence. Backpack wasn’t dry, people who somehow end up in that river hardly ever get found at all, let alone in one piece , Kris didn’t look disturbed or anything like that on 508,, we do know the name and other details of the tour guide, shoes with feet washing up unfortunately is a pretty normal occurrence (look up shoes with feet washing up in Canada), the bleached bone happens from exposure, angry rivers with rocks routinely rip complete cars to shreds, never mind human bodies, having hypothermia and no food won’t make you last long and very weak and can also make you delirious, many alternative and simple theories have explained the missing 509 etc etc. There is a dutch book (translated to english) about the case which is more nuanced and less sensationalist and there are a lot of videos which hold the facts we know of much closer.

  6. You can only recover deleted photos if they have not been overwritten by new photos which it sounds like it had as they kept taking photos . Nothing to do with if they had been deleted on the computer or in camera. What expert does not know that!

  7. I swear you guys covered this case (because it's a well covered case) and was excited there was an update. Guess I'm conflating your coverage with someone else's. Love the show.

  8. People always want scandal or a boogeyman. The girls got lost, probably hurt, and died. It's really not so mysterious. Must have been terribly frightening for them. It's really sad.

  9. Based on the fact that he girl bras were found in the bag, and the missing picture would have to had been deleted with computer software, I'm guessing that the deleted picture was a picture that one of the girl took of the other girl when she was taking off her bra.
