New World Server Issues – We Know You Want To Play! | GameSpot News

In today’s episode of GameSpot News, Persia talks about the massive popularity of New World causing problems for the game’s servers, Battlefield 2042 beta details, and Halo Infinite’s next beta being open to everyone on Xbox and friend’s of current Halo Insiders.

New World, Amazon Game Studios’ long-delayed MMO, is finally live, and it has quickly become the #2 game on Steam with more than 700,000 concurrent players and counting. Due to this, the game is experiencing overloaded servers that is causing long queue times. The game is also seeing massive popularity on Twitch, which is owned by Amazon. Currently, more than 750,000 people are watching New World on the platform, and those watching certain channels and who link their Steam accounts can earn Twitch drops for in-game items.

EA and DICE have officially announced the open beta dates for Battlefield 2042 and the beta officially begins on October 8, but people who preorder or subscribe to EA Play can start two days early, beginning October 6. Since EA Play is bundled with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, subscribers to Microsoft’s service can start on October 6 as well. Many other features including progression, cosmetics, and more will also be available during the open beta.

Xbox users can get access to the upcoming Halo Infinite multiplayer beta by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub app, which is free to download. Current Halo Insiders will also receive a “friend code” that can be redeemed for access to the beta on PC or Xbox.

  1. Love the energy persia keep it up

Is sad some people can't play New World but is not the end of world , just wait for queue or try another day , i am planning to play this on the weekend , it will be worst but until then the fever will pass and maybe amazon studios will expand server allocation.

  2. This is fucking unbelievable. When will game developers stop underestimating the number of servers they will need. I mean come on Amazon, you are AMAZON ffs, you have the luxury to spend as much money as you need on servers to make sure the day 1 experience goes smoothly

  3. AGS's budget for the year is 500 million which is what Amazon makes in a minute. So there's that. Also have you people never been at a big game launch? This is how it is for the first week. It's good though because all the crybabies will leave and make the game better because I don't have to hear you while I'm playing. The game is awesome but if it's not for you then bye.

  4. I think the biggest problem is that amazon has not activated all server regions at once or at the same time. Here in Europe it is almost impossible to get on a server without getting in the death queue. I don't want to know how many players from asia, america and so on are currently playing on european servers. You can't judge these players for being on European servers, because they were the first to start and people just want to play the game. What makes me angry again when I look at the Asian and American server regions and there are many more servers on medium or low than it is in Europe.
