ooo I really hope this feature returns. Monster Hunter Rise is amazing, but I do miss the actual "hunt" from World. Poured 1000 hours into getting all of the achievements in World, and I hope to do the same with Rise once Sunbreak releases.
I love rise, but I do miss world. That game was special to me.
The chibi looking art is the scientist from the last presentation, so it could just be art of researchers doing research. But it would be nice to get investigations back.
As an enjoyer of both the older games and MHWI, i will be happy if investigations become a permanent thing.
The investigations were a nice system, especially with how world was handled, but I think that investigations have one major problem that they had that the dev team should look into. They pretty much make regular quests be irrelevant since you get fewer resources when compared to investigations. I think I'd personally want to see the number of quests increased, with having quests of the same monster in different areas that they can be found in, with subquests added to the quests themselves. I absolutely loved the sidequests from the 4th gen of monhun games. They give you a goal to do within the hunt that's not just take down the prize monster.
I hated the investigation part. It's like they used it to pad out the hunt. This doesn't work for rise faster pace.
I dont think the tracking part of it will come back. That won't be back until mh6 when it comes out in 2 years maybe.
