Is there a Dracula miniseries that's faithful to the book?
Like, the first episode (maybe first two) is Johnathan traveling to and staying in Castle Dracula, with the B-plot of Lucy getting engaged; episode 2 (or 3) is what happened on the Demeter, with the B-plot of Mina and Lucy's vacation, and the C-plot of either Johnathan escaping, or ending up at the train station, or hospital; episode 3 (or 4) is Lucy's illness, with the B-plot of the wedding, and C-plot with the wolves; episode 4 (or 5) is Lucy being a vampire; episode 5 (or 6) is Mina and Van Helsing figure out what's going on, vampire lessons, Mina being fed upon; episode 6 (or 7) is destroying the boxes of earth and tracking down Dracula, maybe the big fight; episode 7 (or 8) is the big fight with epilog.
Also if the vampiric lunatic can be worked in, that be great.
The voice red used for Renfield reminded me of the voice for gluttony in the dub of full metal alchemist brotherhood.

I love this! I would not be mad about more public domain books read by Red (and Blue!). I'm finally catching up on Dracula Daily, which is nice. But my one take-away is that people need to talk to one another. :,D Half of the bullshit with Lucy had not happened if Van Helsing wouldn't have been mysterious for no reason.

After listening to these first two (terrific, tea-filled) readings , I thought of something that needs a theory check.
First, was Jonathan's shorthand letter to Mina addressed to her at Lucy's home, or was the shorthand only included in the letter he wrote to his boss? Dracula burned the letter and envelope, so I wasn't sure. I found the bit in my copy, and I'm still not sure…
If Dracula did see Lucy's address, did that lead him to her, thinking she was Jonathan's love? I mean, she's clearly his type (see evil blonde vampire lady) anyway, but the idea of punishing Jonathan for either defying him and/or escaping would be great motivation to find her amid all the blonde girls in London.
If he didn't see an address, would Dracula have found Lucy inadvertantly while tracking Mina anyway, maybe sniffing out the mingled scent of Jonathan and Mina when he was in dog form? Or maybe handwaving vampiric magic?
I thought one or the other might explain Dracula's interest in Lucy a bit better than Lucy being a beacon of goodness that drew evil, etc., etc.
Anyone?

Budapest really is composed of the city of Buda on the West bank of the Danube and Pest on the East bank. They only united into one city in the 1870s, so it's not surprising that a Brit might use the hyphenated name.
(As for the h, Pesth was an accepted English spelling well into the 20th century.)
I love how Van Helsing is pulling the whole "Doctor Strange doesn't explain anything to anyone" schtick and makes it all so much worse because nobody knows what to watch out for.
