Star Trek: Picard | The Many Roles Of Brent Spiner | Paramount+

Star Trek: Picard’s second season features Brent Spiner as Adam Soong, a scientist who works with Q to win long-lasting fame and glory, much to the detriment of Earth’s future. But Adam is just the latest in a long line of Soongs, or Soong-type androids like Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation, all played by Spiner. Take a look at the full lineage of Soongs, as explained by Spiner himself.

  1. "To understand the true potential of the human genome is to envision a future free from disease. Imagine, if you will, I am a god. And as I look down at humanity, I see them at a crossroads. Will they evolve toward enlightenment? Or will there be a divergence into darkness?"

  2. Arik and Noonian might be the same person. Arik did mess with generic engineering, after all, so maybe he lengthened his own life. Maybe the Picard one was a clone, too.

  3. I'm pretty sure now that all the future Soongs are clones of Adam Soong. That's why they all look the same after so many generations and keep pursuing the same goals. The apparent origin of his daughter in the last episode all but confirms this theory

  4. Huh. I was always curious what Brent Spiner thought the motivations for some of the characters were. Data and Lore were pretty obvious. And in some ways so was Noonian Soong. Arik Soong was a bit more complex. I'd be curious to hear what Brent has to say about that character.
