At 29:21 – A thing about the correctional department that you might not know. (My father is a retired corrections officer, so he told me a thing or two.)
Both State and Federal prison systems have Minimum, Medium, and Maximum security prisons.
The breakdown of who goes to which involves a few things, but the two that make the most sense to people outside the system are how heinous the crime was, and how much time the convict will serve.
People who are serving life sentences (ballpark of 25+) and death sentences are sent to Maximum Security. They are going to be there for a long time, so there is nothing left to lose.
As such… A "white collar" crime that gets what amounts to a life sentence, and a violent crime that gets a life sentence, will earn both perpetrators time in a Maximum security prison. Life is life.
As much as some people would think that "but this one didn't commit a violent offense! Surely he shouldn't be in the same place as violent offenders!" sort of makes sense, that isn't how it works. Life is life, and Maximum is Maximum. They are in it together, for better or for worse.

Madoff wasn't put in prison with violent criminals, he was sent to Federal Correctional Complex Butner, which is a low-medium security prison for people who aren't considered a risk to public safety. I remember hearing news about him being beaten and figured it was because his fraud targeted a lot of white-collar folks and… well, he went to white-collar prison, probably ran into one of the people he defrauded.
I am currently watching this at 3:15am and my shaking, stifled laughter at Mario going "Penis!" has just woken up my wife.

What a shame that people keep getting older and older. I mean, if my Grandpa's generation could just be the greatest then die like Caesars generation, that would be great. But instead they're gonna live long enough to see them bankrupt the country with retirement while they die slowly of dementia.

Simon, it's 28 years for 9 people dead and over 700 people sick plus all of the other crimes. 28 years is light.
Actually, the arms dealer probably got the light sentence because the U.S. made a deal with the Philipines that they (we) wouldn't execute him. Most of the time it's the extradition deal that gets these types of criminals the "sweet deal" of either a minimum sentence of 25 years or life without parole.

3:24 Simon, what good are lists just regurgitating the most well known stuff everyone has already seen / heard 500 times? It defeats the purpose of watching another video with a similar topic to hear about something you don't already know and is just boring. TBH that's why top 10 lists can be really annoying, they often have like 3-5 well known things and unless you skip half the video it's just a waste of time.
People should make more top 50 lists or whatever like 101 facts so that even when listing the well known stuff there is still a decent amount of stuff you don't know yet.
It's not like we get so much gratification from hearing someone list top 10 xyz with stuff we already know should be there that just hearing it over and over again from different yt channels is anything but annoying.
