This guitar has sat in a shipping container rusty for more than a year. For some reason today I thought about trying it again…And. I’m glad I did – here’s the story of my second partscaster!

  3. I really like the look mate!
    I'm a big fan of SS frets, they feel great IMHO.
    Fender's neck shapes can vary on actual vintage originals but the "boat neck" supposedly came into being in October of 56; hence why fender refers to the shape as the 10/56 profile. They basically just sanded the shoulders off on the bigger U necks 😉

  5. Wiped down with a pair of boxers? What kind of British slang is that? I tried shopping for Boxers at Andertons and such with no success. Then I realized, boxers as in men's underwear. Ha! Too funny to me as I always wipe mine down with socks. Just run that guitar the way it is and never sell it. It will become a prized guitar once you get older and help you to remember what you were thinking when you were young. Thanks for the vid.

  9. stainless frets feel a bit more luxurious to me.i luv em,even though they are difficult to work.had to level a couple……took forever!Parts-casters=youre very own custom shop guitar.sounds great too.luv it.get well soon Mr.C!cheers

  18. That’s kind of the fun with partscasters, you can swap things in/out and experiment, without too much concern in ‘messing it up’. The Fender Custom Shop 69’s would probably be my favourite of the Fender pickups. I’d possibly upgrade the bridge if you think it is a weak point. You could always strip it and refinish it to see if you have improved in that skill at all… but really why worry if it already plays and sounds good. Hope your Dad is on the mend.
