Resident Evil Village DLC Shadows of Rose: 6 Ways It’s Different (and One Way It’s The Same)

Resident Evil Village is finally getting some downloadable content in the form of the Winters Expansion, which features a new story based expansion called Shadows of Rose. For those who’ve played through Resident Evil Village, Shadows of Rose might look familiar, but we’ve played a chunk of the DLC and we’re here to report that there are key differences that should be enough to draw curious Resident Evil Village completionists back into the world of survival horror.

  1. So they've got something for the Lady D lovers, something for those who are determined to see Ethan get a face, and something for those who want a direct sequel. Fun times for everybody — except Rose, who keeps getting her face eaten off.

  2. Thanks so much for the spoilers. I was only curious as to how differently the dlc plays, but I haven't played the vanilla game yet. Was it really necessary to show that last cutscene to explain how different the game play is? Appreciate it

  3. Not sure if I can judge based on what I have seen so far but this DLC seems like a cash grab. No new áreas or bosses would be a big negative for me. But again I know there hasn’t been much shown.

  4. I am so glad you said that about maybe finally getting to see Ethans face. Another well known games channel on here tried to claim that if you zoom in on the car at the end of RE Village you can see the face of the person and it looks a lot like Ethan. I asked them how they know it looks like Ethan seeing as they have gone out of their way in the last two games to not show his face, even blacking his face out on the figurine and concept art you collect in Village. They did not reply.
