Don't be afraid to switch more; predicting that Wiplump was going to use Blizzard against Platypet and switching it for Ganki would have reduced the damage from 2× to ¼×, a reduction of 8×.
Saku is actually better against Oceara because it resists its Water attacks, although you could have always picked up the Umbrella to help out one of your other Temtem. Speaking of which, are you really going straight to Omninesia? Surely you at least want to pick up the Coward's Cloak first. Either way, just don't forget to talk to the Travel Writer.
