  1. They vinyl siding could be repurposed. 🤔 With all due respect to those involved, how could such a historic building be just left to the elements?? Florida is not exactly the perfect state weatherwise to preserve an old wood building. The roof looks almost totally useless, the vinyl siding only covered the exterior issues that were already there, and I'm guessing until the fencing went up, this structure was used as a flop house. It's unfortunate the city and those associated with this historical place turned their collective backs on it, and it will take another financial miracle to save it. Any skilled laborers out there that could volunteer to help in the rebuilding to keep costs down? I'd be down with it.

  2. What a shame that Tampa has so much black history but yet the black movie stars & rappers don't take any part to save it but yet in a few years when they tear it down they will blame the white people then you will see them on TV to complain but not to open their wallets .

  3. Should be preserved and it should be by tax payers. I'm from Tampa and I'm white. If you don't like that this country was built by immigrants INCLUDING African Americans then maybe YOU should get out of our country!

  4. Let’s preserve buildings of segregation, …The left loves them some racial segregation. No one cares about where some 1920s singer stayed at, $4 million?! hahaha …yeah, that’s called corruption folks.

  5. Famed..but not enough to keep it maintained?..4 mil?..taxpayers better revolt on this?.you have homeless veterans..old people who can't stay in their homes ..and someone wants 4mil to rebuild a pile of rubble?..wake up and take care of real issues…call BLM..apparently they have tons of money that's available.
