'God save The King': King Charles III makes speech after Proclamation and Queen death acknowledged

‘God save The King’: King Charles III makes speech after Proclamation and Queen death acknowledged. King Charles III has made a personal declaration on the death of his beloved mother Queen Elizabeth II today as Britain’s new monarch was formally announced at St James’s Palace in London today. Charles automatically became Sovereign on the death of his mother aged 96 at Balmoral on Thursday, but the Accession Council – a body of advisers that dates back to the time of the Norman kings – has formally announced his role today. Paying tribute to the Queen at the Accession Council, the King said: ‘Her reign was unequalled in its duration, its dedication and its devotion. Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life.’

  1. I still remember visiting Hong Kong as a kid and the Queen was featured on their coins. Queen Elizabeth II had been the Head of State of many Commonwealth countries for so long which makes me feel that she would be our queen forever. I felt sad after hearing the news about her death.

  5. The Coronation Oath Act is binding “through-out” Her Majesties Reign. Why is that important? This Oath binds the Monarch to protect us and our ancient, laws and customs. Magna Carta 1215 (the original). Parliament cannot repeal the Magna Carta 1215. It is OUT of their jurisdiction and a “contract” treaty between The People and The Monarch.

Parliament are rewriting the The Coronation Oath Act 1688, “without your knowledge”. Why “without your knowledge”? Because they know its illegal and a constitutional change, they are subverting the English Constitution, a serious criminal offence.

  7. Wow. Even if he should've had some time to mourn, he's still very composed to let the nation know that he's going to be there for them to take up his new responsibility to his people. He's very aware of what they've lost. And what a woman she was. He's trying to be as reassuring as possible. I hope for the very best for him and his family and the nation too. My deepest condolences.

  8. "pledge of service" , that's an interesting way of describing getting to live in decadence and opulence just for cutting a few ribbons now and again.
What a burden to the UK having to support these people with all their ceremonies (parties), the security costs must be bankrupting the cities alone.
Take this opportunity UK and get rid of this "king" thing. Appropriate all their ill gotten gains and turn the castles into schools or something more useful.

  9. Rest in Peace Queen of nations…King charles being homeless should not be happening!!! Not being able to provide for our children should not be happening!!! Prince William fill your King in about what is really happening out there in the world after all that's what your mother was all about. Diana was the Queen of hearts for a reason, children!
