Pistol Brace Amnesty What Does That Really Mean to You?

Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the recent discovery of ATF’s budget request so that their Form 1 can be re-drafted to allow the “upcoming pistol brace amnesty registration period” in which applicants will be required to submit photos of their firearm that they are requesting amnesty for. Of course, once registered, this information will be ATF’s to keep and use for whatever purpose they may desire later. Furthermore, with just one act of Congress, the United States government could generate somewhere between $4 and $8 billion in additional tax revenue. But what does this all mean to you, the lawful and responsible gun owner? Learn more and arm yourself with education today.

  1. Let me explain the true purpose of this. The ATF will have you register your pistol braces. If not you will be a felon. Once they are registered the 87000 new IRS agents who will be in the field, can then confiscate your weapons after the IRS merely says you owe back taxes. Good luck getting them back. If you already do not know, the IRS and every bank in this country already has an agreement that they can put a lein on your assets, freeze your bank accounts and withdraw money from them. There is absolutely no reason for 87000 field agents who are willing to use lethal force, they're job application advertisment, not mine, in the IRS unless they are planning on confiscating things

  2. I have not purchased any braced pistols, but have purchased three or four braces. I might still have one that I have never installed. Not all installations are ARs. I have no intention of registering any braced pistols and would prefer to just remove the braces and destroy them with proof. Does that seem to be a reasonable strategy? Could you do a video about how to get out of registering nearer the drop dead date?

  3. Since I haven't heard anyone else ask this question, I will. Can't the brace be removed from the receiver extension to make the firearm compliant? I realize it would alter the function but it seems like a simple solution.

  4. Question for WGL – Will removing the 'brace' part from the buffer tube negate the forthcoming 'violation, taking into account that some brace configurations employ an adjustable buffer tube that was not allowed until ATF rulings within the past decade ?

  6. Curious, what if one runs multiple uppers, some sort some shorter and some long, on a braced lower? Which, or all, of these would be NFA? What if one changes just the barrel by an inch, from 9 to 10 inches…new NFA?

  7. What I’d like to know is if you own gun parts say such as a pistol brace but it’s not actually attached to a firearm is it still illegal to own. Same with receivers and such. I realize all of this is up in the air and we all know the ATF would say yes but if you have to take it to court to defend yourself would it be?

  8. I have shit stick Mark Kelly for a senator. Mr. make a mint off my wife's misfortune, with The Gabby Gifford's Institute of Gun Grabbing. I have even seen this duplicitous shit pile buying the exact same guns that he wants to take away from everyone else. I have also seen a gun store owner refuse to sell twin turd Kelly an AR15 too. He owns more than one modern sporting rifle.

  9. Hi Bill, it's strange to me that such onerous restrictions on a product designed to assist disabled people, doesn't bump against the Americans with Disabilities Act. I say this because I have a nephew that is disabled from a stroke, and only has the use of one arm.

  10. I have a question; if the pistol with a brace is to be registered as an SBR, what is the point of the brace afterwards? Wouldn't the SBR designation allow the use of a stock instead of a brace?

  11. Any Quasi-Judge that hears a case outside of its Jurisdiction is/are acting outside of his / her jurisdiction! As it has been for over a century: Any Judge ( Administrative Clerk) / Court Room that hears anything OUTSIDE its Jurisdiction SHALL be hit with a $1,000,000 LIEN per incident as prescribed under United States Code (USC). It reads "MUST" (so you'd be violating Statutes if you didn't) and Wait there is more: Under UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) you may lien the Judges employer for the breach in Code (Usually the county or US Federal Corp or one of its owners the PCT (Public Charitable Trust), get this $100,000,000.00 per INCIDENT within the event. This is why I can defeat them ALL at every Turn!!!! TT4N Slaves…

  12. This is another way of adding to their illegal registry. If I want an SBR, I purchase one and pay the $200 tax, which I do not at this time. This is another Supreme Court case in the making, involving the illegal over-reach of the executive branch allowing a non-legislative agency to write law as the president sees fit. Enough!!!

  13. It means nothing. There is zero way of informing 100% of pistol brace owners, negating any criminal intent. They were bought legally & the bruin decision proves we have a constitutional right. Not saying you won't have to fight it out in court, but after a lengthy process, charges unfounded… even if it has to go back to the Supreme Court!

  14. SO IF I OWN A BRACE BUT IT IS IN A BOX SEALED UP AND NOT ATTACHED TO ANY OBJECT OR FIREARM IS THAT ILLEGAL LASTLY IS IT NOT EXPOST FACTO LAW that is an issue here how can a law go back in time and be retroactive and how can the ATF manufacture legislation and create law??

  15. NO ONE SHOULD COMPLY , this is just totally unconstitutional, if we comply it will just be another erosion of our freedoms. The supreme court case over the EPA will make this new "change" or redefinitions is completely unconstitutional NOT A SINGLE GUN OWNER SHOULD COMPLY WITH THIS NEW BULSSHIT, Don't fall for their amnesty , later they will simply Re-define this again and they will come confiscate the one you applied amnesty for D O N O T C O M P L Y period IF YOU COMPLY You and Your Family will be slaves

  16. Yeah, this is why I don't mess with gray area parts. The ATF just waits until enough law abiding citizens own them, and then switch their rules to go grab some revenue. Next, they will consider all AR15 pistols with buffer tubes to be SBR rifles. Meaning, absolutely nothing will be allowed to be extended past the rear of the upper and lower receiver. After that, they will designate any pistol capable of shooting a bottle neck cartridge to be an SBR, including FN 5.7mm. ATF will continue to circumvent Congress to change the law that they have no authority to do so in the first place. To my understanding, only signed bills or amendments can change or redefine definitions in law. I believe that's why Democrats want an "Assault Weapons" ban, because the ATF could just keep redefining what an "Assault Weapon" is until we're left with single shot action only. Some Gun enthusiast called me stupid and an idiot when I explained that their pistol brace would eventually be considered illegal whenever the ATF decided it wanted the braces to be illegal. Well, here it is.
