NO DETAIL MATTERS! The Rings of Power still doesn't care. Episode 2 In-Depth.

The more we watch the show, the clearer it is that all the details don’t matter to The Rings of Power. Jonathan, Michael, and Dan discuss Episode 2 and Galadriel’s “I’m fine” face (😂), Encino Man and the Harfoots, the made up Morgoth story, and how real dwarves don’t cry.

  1. I just couldn't figure out what to do with Dan's best moment in this video: pointing out Galadriel's "I'm fine" face.😂 Between that, Morgoth's tears, Durin's emotional moment, and Elrond's majestic quote “Where there is love it is truly never dark”, this show keeps aspiring for that 8th grade writing award!

  2. 4:29 there are no storms until there are. In this very episode. A huge one 🤣
I counted. Half of the distance of Atlantic, which is about 3k km, would take a swimming sprinter 41 days of non stop sprinting. Without food and fresh water. Seems possible…

  3. The most confusing thing to me was how Halbrand for some reason assumed Galadriel was a deserter?
Logic: "Oh, another survivor in the water. I guess that sea monster destroyed another boat somewhere."
The show: You must be a DESERTER!

And also the fact that they never show the faces of the children between Disa and Durin. I guess they weren't sure how to explain their appearence, so they just covered them up in giant helmets.

  4. 43:06 and what they really meant was "when there is a will, there is always a way…". Like he make a hole in the mountain for sun to lighten the tree, or use that mirrors, or anything that make sense!
And that concept of people saw him stupid for thinking he can made it was a really good one. What leader are you if you can't grow a tree in a cave?! You are jumping on that ridiculous concepts and want to rule us?! Outrageous! But again, they want to be greater than Tolkien himself…

  5. In case you haven’t heard, apparently the original Hobbits from Jackson’s LotR have decided that this show is perfect and anyone who says otherwise is, well…. Racist? For some reason.

I, personally, have not heard anybody complain about race (except myself, because it’s absurd that every romantic pairing depicted has to be mixed race), even when the complaint is totally valid, like how does Nori have a black mom and white dad?

  6. Another nice video guys. Watching this episode again from Tolkien's lore perspective and just as a tv show perspective pointed to us all that we're not talking about Tolkien's lore anymore, but only to the very bad plot of this tv show. When the very small plot details fail like Elrond not being invited to Durin's marriage, the continuous character's very bad quotes and non-sense scenes are turning this show to a parody. How more bad can this become ? I believe there's more…

  7. The producers have just tried to set Tolkien into todays modern day society, complete with diversity, gender roles, race mixing, sexuality etc. . It can never work, they’ve just ended up with something that they can see any time they turn on the tv or watch a movie. Tolkien wrote about a specific time with specific races along with their backgrounds, social habits, attitudes and morality. Trying to bring that into the 21st century just won’t work. Amazon need to take note, somethings cannot be modernised.

  8. well remember this written by former members of Alex Kurtzman's team, and the one thing Kurtzman is known for is the "mystery box". This "wizard" is one of the show's mysteryboxes. currently they're trying to false flag this wizard as Sauron, of course no one with a brain believes it but they've definitely laid a trail of breadcrumbs to make people believe it. they also gave the dwarves a mysterybox with the box durin the 3rd shows the 4th. they gave theo a mystery box in the shape of a sword, and they made a mysterybox with this random dude who is drifting on an ocean with Galadriel. The forging tower that Celebrimbor and Elrond are making is a mysterybox too (unless you know the lore). Finally Sauron himself is a mysterybox, becuase we've only seen in him profile. This writing team will continue to do this. keep mysteries alive as long as possible, then add 2 more if one gets solved. Remember LOST? well welcome to Lost, Middle Earth version.

  9. Lol… My wife also wanted to stop watching in ep1. Main reason? Galadriel. She basically a "normie" but instantly noticed all the crap going on even disregarding lore etc.

  10. I think the mystery greatly meteor man, with a grey clock, bringing the shadow spell and even a big nose maybe Saruman. As these are the first hobbit he came across!

  11. The Corsairs don't exist until well after the fall of Númenor, thousand of years in the future. Galadriel is making a casual 1100 mile swim home and she gets found twice before dehydration, starvation, hypothermia, predation. Elrond and Celebrimbor walk from Eregion to Khazad-dûm without horses, food, or any supplies, then Celebrimbor has to immediately go back alone, again with nothing for the trip. How can one invest when everything is fan fiction level whatever?

  12. I belive the boy with the "Nazgul blade" could be or "become" Sauron. At this point i believe its possible they change the lore in this aspect too and Sauron´s spirit is now able to overtake human body´s or something like that.

  13. Rings of Power is an invaluable and highly successful venture. It has carved Get Woke Go Broke into the internal skull lining of every movie producer who puts down enough cash to hurt when his production bombs.

  14. You know what's the real problem with this show?

For me It boils down to one thing: manufacturing emotions.

Movies have been around for a long time and we all probably have seen many scenes of the same type. We know what we're supposed to feel when a character makes an important decision in a story, or when we see characters finally realizing something new about themselves, the list goes on.
The problem with RoP Is that when you're watching these kind of scenes unfold, YOU KNOW you're supposed to feel a certain way, but you don't, because you don't care about any of them, and you're left with disappointment and emptiness.

That for me Is the death of storytelling, when your audience doesnt care about what happens next.

  15. I just had a thought… if the tree Elrond gave Durin was from Lindon, isn't it very likely it's a Mallorn tree? In which case… he gave him a tree that grows to be absolutely ginormous. to plant in a cave. UNDER A MOUNTAIN
