A look at how RSAF's upcoming F-35 fighter jets will be refuelled mid-air

While the Republic of Singapore Air Force is getting a good look at the F-35 fighter jets it is buying, it is already conducting mid-air refuelling exercises to keep the aircraft longer in the sky. Singapore’s newest tanker is making its first ever appearance in Exercise Pitch Black in Darwin. The A330 MRTT conducts mid-air refuelling so aircraft can stay longer up in the sky in large-scale combat training scenarios, for example. Exercises like these have given more insights to the F-35Bs especially as they are set to be delivered in four years.

  1. If daddy America invades China or Russia, then the latter will have to take out Singapore, which is the unsinkable aircraft carrier of daddy.
Step 1: Issues ultimatum for all foreigners to leave Singapore within one week.
Step 2: Accepts Singapore's surrender after one week.
    ….
No chance for mighty Singapore to use those expensive toys.

P.S. Look at Ukraine, how many billionaires, millionaires and PAP politicians would still be around to fight the war alongside you poor people?

This is the hard truth lah!

    Ha ha ha!

  3. I was lucky enough to be passenger on a RAF VC10 watching Tornado F3s getting refuelled as a Cadet and it was simply amazing.
25 years ago that was so can't imagine how much has changed in that time.

  4. Mind boggling!… Singapore such a small country…Why the need to mid refueling??? Just land back to island and refuel..
Unless Singapore wants to invade Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei? I highly doubt so..

  5. Let’s hope that SG won’t get carried away with some of these US fighter jets f35 added to their airforce, after all, the island has a very tiny air space for these latest jets to even fly around, let alone in an actual combat situation b4 venturing into other nations’ air space, creating more hostilities than necessary. Besides, SG could better safeguard its sovereignty by trying harder to keep its neutrality intact , in the midst of a geopolitical war between the superpowers.

  6. Why in the world would they need this again? Wouldn't it be more efficient for them just to land the damn plane and refuel on ground considering how small Singapore is?
