HOLD MY BEER
HOLD MY BEER
Check this stunt out…
Maybe the cactus they ate had MESCALINE in it XD
Would it be possible to act dead so the vultures come close and they try to grab one and eat it? I know for a fact that it worked two times, once with a bird, it was a soldier from Finland, I believe in ww2 when he overdosed on meth he took off skiing and got lost he managed to hit a bird with his stick and ate it what made him survive and once with bats. A guy did an ultra marathon in a desert got lost found a building with bats tried to commit suicide but when he slit his wrist he did not bleed out because his blood was too dry. He drank the bats blood and managed to survive
Survivors guilt if there is any. I'd feel like shit.
The desert is unforgiving. I have never spent the night in the desert more than a few steps away from my vehicle, it's my lifeline and contained all the things necessary to make camping in that environment enjoyable. I don't intend to be one of these stories.
Has anyone ever watched a movie called "Gerry" with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck? The plot is similar to what happened here in real life.
All sorts of little things, by itself, not a problem, but, combined, a disaster.
Always take a screen shot of satellite imagery of the place you're going hiking, or better yet, print out a screen shot and put it into a bag so it doesn't get wet. I got lost in the woods of northern Canada years ago and this saved my life. Also, take the wilderness seriously. It doesn't care about you and it will kill you if you're unprepared.
I worked in an ER for nearly 10 years, 5 years pediatrics and then 3 years rehabilitation/assisted living/nursing home setting. Each of these places/settings, presented patients of different ages with dehydration cases. Dehydration causes the following: extreme weakness, confusion, inability to make decisions, poor cognitive functioning, delusions, inability to see, inability to walk, inability to speak, severe muscle cramping, kidney damage, eventually leads to brain damage and stroke and or heat stroke–and death if in hot weather or cause is due to over heating. If due to illness, can eventually lead to heart failure, heart attack and coma and death. On the way is slurred speech and inability to focus, pay attention to details, memory loss, loss of time and ability to calculate risk–also directional confusion–EAST, WEST, North and South even right and left are confused.
The journal being kept by these men would have been an interesting read, as they deteriorated, so should their handwriting, ability to spell, written skills to write coherent sentences, and to process information. IF near death as they claimed to be, I doubt either one of them would have had the energy to kill each other, let alone use heavy rocks to bury a corpse. Which surprises me. Had it been a jury trial and I been on the jury, not sure I would have bought the story hook, line and sinker. AS why was ONE person so much weaker–than the other–and the other so much stronger? IF the one was so weakened, near death and suffering, ONE stab to the chest with a punctured lung–causing inability to breath well, should have then finished him, and the fact he could still talk a bit after a stab to the heart–means he was not as weak as he thought he was–and probably his main problem was his poor ability to handle pain. In my opinion, the stronger one should have been more forceful in encouraging the other to hang on a bit longer and live. The fact the stronger one could muster enough sense and strength to bury his friend–tells me he could process what happened, and thereby could have reasoned NOT to kill his friend.
I do not believe he was as confused and suffering from delusions as he lead on at the time he murdered his friend. His friend, was in much physical pain, as it hurts like hell to dehydrated to death. The organs pull away from the sides of the body, and this hurts, as it feels as if there is a "tearing" away from the inner walls of the sac that holds our organs together. This causes much nausea, and stomach pain and generalized shaking and dizziness and cramping. There are severe muscle spasms in arms and legs, drawing a person into a fetal position almost. There is severe headache, worst headache ever felt, eye pain, mouth sores can develop, tongue is dry, develops sores, even aching of the teeth and jaw can occur. There comes a point when the mind no longer feels pain–and the body goes numb. This then, is when the person has just hours to live. While they feel pain, they can live for several days yet. It is when a person finally loses the ability to feel pain, that death is very near. While I can sympathize with this young man wanting to END pain and suffering–there is also a huge mental component to it at this point–which becomes mind over matter for survival. It is a shame, neither one of them had the mind over matter for survival. Survivalists all have this element of strength and do not give up killing their friends or themselves. I took care of a lot of war vets who survived the bombing of Pearl Harbor, D-Day bombing June 6th 1944, the Battle of the Bastone, (Battle of the Bulge) and also Vietnam and Korean War vets. All of them were survivors. In their worst conditions, worse than what these men faced, would have never killed their friends or committed suicide. Life is just too precious to waste.
I think that they had a fight. Blame placed on David as his uncle was responsible for the horrific situation. There is no way anyone would plunge a knife into the chest of any other person TWICE and then be left alone to die. The dead guy had big plans.
They should have started a large fire probably would have got the attention of someone
Unimaginable case scenario. Really good work for reducing sentence. He served 2 years to help his friend. 🥲😔. Character assesment prevailed.
Haunting. Still something not seem right!? 🤷🏼♂️. Two people lost track on a cable cart Mountain Started a Bushfire from matches found from a Corpse's grave site. The Hills have Eyes.
If he was guilty he would have claimed self defence as there are no witnesses to refute. Since he took responsibility for the killing, I tend to believe he acted out of mercy.
Sometimes you just have to admit to yourself that you do not have the skill set for certain adventures.
the fact he served a minute behind bars absolutely disgusts me. can't stand the injustice system
City folk are so damned gullible.
You've a better chance of being hurt or killed on the drive to the trailhead.
Stop supporting liars like Paulides…
You know that he is a disgraced cop who resigned under indictment for running a grifters scheme while on duty.
And had no history whatsoever in Search and Rescue….
Wake the f up…..
These other clowns don't come across any better.
And just one observation they don't teach map Reading anymore do they? It's all online. I've seen nasty things out the desert I lived out there for quite a while
Things happened, memories were made but so were mistakes, this was like watching a Murder Mystery show on Netflix
Road Trip! 😳
So sad
Wait, so they got a permit for one night but the rangers didnt check until 3 day later?
His mistake was not drinking David's blood.
