He feels more like an actual character with motivations other than oo I'm so bad
Overlord is still remind me of more of nyarlathotep from persona series because both them are part Darkness of balance
is it offically confirmed the Overlord and the Crystal King are the same person?

"Destruction comes from the eternal struggle between light and dark."
"I will destroy the balance. There will be peace in the dark."

I don’t mean to sound doubtful but even if it is the Overlord, I wasn’t really waiting for it. Nor did I think he would return. But after hearing the Crystal King’s voice and plan, I’m starting to think that’s maybe not the Overlord. I know what Garmadon but still, u never know. What if the Crystal King was the Overlord’s henchman or created along with the Stone Army? I think that stone army thing would be a good origin story for the Crystal King.
I was never a fan of "Evil for the sake of evil". But this gives a lot of depth to the Overlord's character. He sees the world could never be at peace if the balance creates a shift of good/bad. So he believes he can make the world perfect if he puts it under a totaltation rule.
Imagine if the overlord becomes way cooler so he says the struggle between light and dark that could represent how the ninja battle the new baddies but there’s still always damage people still die like what happend to harumi’s parents if the overlord can be the most powerful with nothing standing in his way he can rule a peacful world although this might take it too far and not even make him a villain anymore.
Hes Like Ultron! He wants to Destroy everything to bring peace to The World!

I actually predicted that he was from the First Realm as a translator for the dragons and was sent to help the FSM stop the Oni but like how Mystake grew to love Ninjago The Overlord hated it and went rogue believing Ninjago would be better if he was in charge. I’m glad I was kinda sorta right.
Considering ninjago has always had a focused on balance, I think it's really interesting to have the final battle (of this story) be focused on a villain who views the balance as entirely irrelevant going against a hero who must not only understand the importance of balance, but embrace the light and the dark in order to save the day
Overlord could show true opinions on how he view things
I’ve always loved the Overlord but he did need more character depth and this is the perfect way to give him more depth, destroying the balance so the battle between light and dark stops thus bringing peace, essentially he wants peace but his way of achieving his goal is very manipulative and dark
Ngl but crystal king is not overlord it s a new character.
If the power of the Oni could combat the overlord does that mean omega and the other oni could have a chance to defeat the overlord? Could Wu turn into an Oni like an Oni form too? Could the old Garmadon has an oni form?

I agree, this is good to see/hear more of the Overlord's plan. But he never got to fully explain what he wanted as he was always defeated. This does bring up the question, what did he want when he and the First Spinjitzu Master fought all those years ago? Maybe this season will finally reveal who/what the Overlord is.
