  1. The question is why in my opinion it will not work. Because many Central and Eastern European countries felt that Russia could be beaten and Germany wanted Russia to be an important part of the European strategy. Eastern Europe in Tum Polska, the Baltic States will never agree to Berlin and Paris to decide for them about Russia and will never agree to lift any sanctions against Russia.

  3. Might just need to make a new eu and have those that want the plan to join thst eu. Germany and others could then exit the old eu completely and enter into the new eu. With the big players gone from the old eu, smaller (old) eu members will either need to prop up the old eu on their own, or join the new eu on the new terms (Qualified majority, etc).

  4. A common defense policy? That’s hilarious. NATO and A Russian invasion STILL is not enough to get European spending on defense to minimal levels. The EU is, however, a great generator of bureaucracy and very virtuous diplomacy. Super nice communiques on every topic.

As an American I urgently wish to leave NATO and let this collection of nations figure it out. That will concentrate the minds of Europe quickly and extract us from a commitment that underwrites continental silliness.

  5. This half-wit, limping conglomerate lacks an integrated tax policy, a Labour code, which enables the employees to deter any of the attacks on their earnings, hygienic protection and work-place safety. It sorely lacks a common social security scheme and sanitary network. Instead of pumping trillions of euros into the banking sector, the eurocratic watermelonheads could use up this huge source to solve the burning housing problems, unifying the public transport networks and turning them free to users. If this juggernaut doesn't yield benefices to the vast majority of its citizens, so why does it still exist??????????????????

  7. The EU will never become a federal state that resembles the USA in any way! The USA was NOT created by taking 50 nation states with their own language and a long history and joining them together as one federal state.
The Eu will become something like Yugoslavia or the Soviet Union. And its faith will be the same as was that of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union.

  8. I live in a small european country. Taking away the veto doesnt make small countries powerless. It makes them appropriately powerful. Now it's hungary making a fuss, but a few years ago it was Austria (my home) the netherlands, sweden and denmark being annoying about the recovery plan for covid

  9. As a single country, germany/france/finland/hungary/spain/romania etc they can't do anything they're nothing in compared to the world powers like US / China and coming soon India, they are just nothing if we want the europe like it is today and fullfill a dream of free europe without wars and with prosperity we need to stay united and make Europe a great thing, Europe is literally fading trough the world stage, and if europe is fading we can't promote our dreams outside europe and soon we won't even be able to promote them inside europe, we need United states of Europe.

  10. The majority of the EU members merely wants/needs free movement of goods and people. Anything else that will lead to a federation or any of the nonsense mentioned here will only benefit a handful of countries thus it will not last long term, especially considering the huge cultural difference and historical divisions between many of its members.

  11. "Common defence"

The loathsome EU has no role of ANY KIND to play in European defence, which is a NATO competence. So if the absolutist EU parasites infesting Brussels succeed in misleading EU member states re defence and in consequence substantially displace NATO, then the UK (and preferably US, Canada, Norway and Turkey as well) should withdraw from the alliance immediately.

Certainly, no UK forces must EVER, in any circumstances be placed under EU command, whether on a de jure or de facto basis.

  12. This is all nice and all but dont forget germany is only purposing this since turkey doesn't want the EU to add sweden and finland to its bloc, Basically just like this "oh you dont agree with me? If you dont i'm going to seize power and choose what you do all by myself and you must obey!" imagine that, Its terrible, If my country for lets say, depends on Russia for food, And germany wants sanctions on food from Russia, Its going to bring massive problems to my country as we cannot veto it, Its absolutely retarded and i am sure its only going to cause countries to leave the EU to save themselves from problems instead of having to listen and obey what their country is restricted from and what is not just because a major nation wants to do said thing.

  13. Simply abolishing unanimity will not be enough. A body of 27 or later 30 heads of government remains cumbersome. The European Council must function as a second parliament, while the EU executive must be strengthened.

  14. Its about time Germany stop destroying Europe with their, by force, stupid leadership. Better they step back and do what they do best, work like soldiers. The actual thinking is not its strong side.

  15. This idea of Germany being the EU army, or the largest part of it, is dangerous. One must not forget who started WWI and WWII. We also must not forget that Germany and Russia were allies in the beginning of WWII.

Why would any sane person think this is a good idea?
