Doesn't look like my cup of tea from what I've seen but will keep an eye on it. I've recently tried Aion again and will check out GW2 again as well.
But I'm still trying to finally get at least ONE arr relic (blm) done.
If i play new world, the maximum i am gonna play it for is til EW. Once EW comes out basically all my alone time will be focused on that. So it really depends if it’s worth getting into knowing i will be dropping it 100% come Nov 19
I'm done playing American made MMOs. They all have become games for investors. None of them has the players interest.
The only MMO I'm looking forward to is Blue Protocol.
THIS will not be a BIG NO for me! This game has changed way to much, it is almost like it has no idea what it is! There will definitely a griefing in game so I will NEVER play this! New World took all of its ideas from Ashes Of Creation! AOC was announced way before New World! Screw Amazon, PERIOD!
I mean as a console peasant i can't even think about playing it unless i get a high end pc….
The game seems like it was made in a petri dish specifically to appease investors.
The combat and no classes …. the meta will come out and every person will just run those weapons and i hope they have road map or the game will drop off a cliff in a month this is a live service game and i really hope they know what that really means or it be short lived.
Don't see the point of playing another mmo if im already playing ffxiv. Have way too much to do before Endwalker
Wow – 15 years and done. FFXIV – 2 years and continuting. TNW – Pre-ordered and worth a try.
The best way I can describe how I hear everything you're talking about here when it comes to game mechanics is: "Interesting, but unappealing."
I watched some of the beta streams from various people and saw nothing that really interested me.
I've always been more of the jrpg type of gamer. I have hated PVP in every game I've ever played. Also seems less interesting to me for the lack of the fantasy elements.
New world doesn’t look appealing to me but I will keep a lookout in the streams to see if it starts to interest me.
Just pre-ordered it. Looking forward to this one!
New World was interesting in Beta for me. I am like ya i will check this out. This isn't special, but will keep playing to give it an honest chance. By end of beta, i was hooked. I feel it is like a cleaned up ESO. It feels like it can fill that void I fill with Skyrim, w/o playing Skyrim again, and actually play with friends.
I am still on the fence on this one because the combat system looks really clunky
I tried the BETA. Unfortunately not for me. I think pvp players will have a blast with it. The pve just didn't hook me. But I'll keep my eye on it. =)
So I had the game pre-ordered and after trying the beta…
I found the game to be aggressively mediocre with some uninspired design choices.
Like the crafting and gathering… there is nothing inspired there. If your skill level is high enough, you can gather, if you have the reagents and the skill required, you can craft. You look at FFXIV and they made crafting and gathering have their own jobs and rotations… what did New World add to make it their own?
I found the combat to be very mediocre, and I honestly didn't find myself loving any of the weapon types that I tried. It felt like a poor imitation of Dark Souls, and really just made me want to play From Software games. From everything I've seen and heard, that doesn't change much at the end game.
I already feel like I have too many games to play, and I have a lot of goals for FFXIV, it just feels really hard to justify spending time on a game that is so … aggressively mediocre. I actually wound up canceling my pre-order after playing the Beta. I'll still keep an eye on it though, see if that changes!
Honestly a little worried with all the eyes on the game if endwalker is not as good as we hope but excited to play it and for the future of the game as always. REALISED THE VID WAS NEW WORLD WATCHED ANYWAY FOR THE BOYS.
Personally I'm not going to get it, I'm gonna watch some people people play it and see what it's like. I'm definitely in too deep with FFXIV now especially working on the Resistance weapons. I thought about trying New World but there's just a huge detractor for it.
Only one race in the game is kinda bland for a fantasy game. Like there's magic and such. If there was more fantasy races, I'd probably be playing it, but with knowing it's going to be an absolute storm tomorrow trying to play and missing out on that. I'm gonna wait. May end up getting it on sale.
doesn't look appealing at all.. lore.. looks.. no waifuls ugly characters.. ugly spells.. i want open world pvp.. but not with this aesthetics and gameplay.. high level and low level plays exactly the same way
I dunu man… At first i was exited… But then they over did it with the pvp scaling, the stagger gone, literally almost no nerfs to lifestaff… And a wholelot more… I dunu if to play anymore.
I've been following Ashes of Creation. It's still going to take a year or two until it's ready, but that's a game I'd like to try. New World… not so much. Pretty bad monetization model with boosts and skips from the get-go.
I tried the beta and I wasn’t feeling the combat to be honest
From everything your saying the average FF14 player wont like this game. When i played the technical test i didnt like how there no class restrictions you just equip a life staff then geal yourself then switch to another weapon
I've been impatiently waiting since the closed beta. About to take a nap and be on as servers launch. I'm so excited to play.
Not interesting enough in my opinion, especially with Endwalker coming out soon.

Hi fellas! I’ve had the opportunity to watch New World being played. It has a story, good music, average mechanics but lots of possibilities. Plenty of action and PvP is presente but not mandatory. Personally, it’s not for me. The most common enemy moves much too fast for my taste lol. Also, I’m tired of ‘zombie like’ humanoid creatures. Gathering and crafting don’t seem too grindy, but it’s early days for that. Biggest hurdles? Server lag, bugs and occasional crashes. So, nothing new there lol. I’ll be curious to see your take on this game. If you tell me it’s a 9/10, I might just try it. 😆 But it better have a good story!! Otherwise, I’m out. Thank you guys. Stay safe. ❤️
