  2. I don't know how thermodynamics works in the game, but in the real world, if you created a vacuum and ran a machine into it, there wouldn't be atmosphere to conduct the heat out into your base. If the machine doesn't reach the point it over heats, then you would be golden.

  3. That refinery cooling has multiple major flaws. Continuous steel refining with skilled dupe produces about 2 MDTU of heat, so you need like 25 AETNs to cool it this way. Also I have a feeling that uninsulated AETN floor cools the hydrogen room more than the machine itself. I highly recommend building classic steam room setup soon.

  4. What you could do with the thermo-nullifier is put a temperature sensor in the room and whenever it gets above e.g. 15C then let some hydrogen gas flow into the thing to cool the room.

  5. Hmm to let the colder oxygen spread youd have to get rid of the carbon dioxide, slicks would be perfect but i doubt youll get them soon, for now id pump it into an enclosed room with high pressure vent or store it in reservoirs

  6. The Metal Refinery wants to draw 1200 but the Transformer can only supply 1000 in the same amount of time, so it gets consumed immediately, the job is paused, the duplicant leaves for another job before the Transformer can charge is tiny battery back up.
    You just need a battery on the same line as the refinery; it should have no trouble charging back up between jobs even though the draw is larger then the drain, as it only acts as a buffer supplying that extra 200 while the dupe is operating the refiner.

  7. you're better off circulating water around your base to stabilize the temperature. it's much cheaper power wise to use liquids to cool gasses. also you should try rushing down to the oil biome to get enough lime to make steel. steel aquatuners essentially eliminate heating concerns along with steam turbines and turning the oil into petroleum will alleviate power concerns

  8. Pretty sure you can automate the thermal nullifier to stop just shy of 0 degrees thus removing any risk of the water lock freezing or the polluted water freezing in the pipes.

    Thermoregulators are trash compared to Aquatuners. Aquatuners are 5 times the electric power and 6 times the cost but are 7 times more efficient with heat movement.

If you would rather not have to micro the addition of hydrogen to the thermonullifier, you could use a gas thermosensor in the hydrogen room that is connected to a gas valve that feeds hydrogen to the nullifier. This would require breaking open your sealed room though so its up to you if its worth it or not.

  10. You perfectly explain why ONI is such a good game by well, using your smart engineer brain!

    Also I wanna say the "exploit" to keep gases out is no exploit at all, I remember reading somewhere what you did was used too in ancient times, sure not to keep the gases out but it did function simmilarly.

    I love how you create radiator and just find such creative solutions
