Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov denies Russia has carried out war crimes in Ukraine but admits there’s been ‘significant’ Russian losses.
Dmitry Peskov, in his first broadcast interview with western media, said verified photos and satellite images of dead civilians in the streets of Ukrainian cities were a “bold fake”.
He maintained the situation in Bucha, where photos show many murdered Ukrainian civilians, was a “well-staged insinuation, nothing else”.

Peskov allows himself to lie. There were no anti-Russian sentiments in Ukraine. My eldest daughter graduated from Russian school in 2020. We had 13% of pro-Russian parties in parliament before the war. We wanted to develop the economy, we did not oppress the Russian-speaking population. I am a Russian-speaking Ukrainian, always and everywhere I speak Russian. And no one bombed the Donbass for 8 years. There was an anti-terrorist operation with an attempt to expel armed formations from Donbass in 2014-2015.
