  2. 14:03 "Champing at the bit" comes from being eager about something the way a horse who is eager to run will bite and pull at its bit, that metal rod riders put in its mouth to which the reins connect, often forcing the rider to exert control through the reins. Some people get snooty about the phrase being "champing" where most people say "chomping," but they both just mean biting, don't they?

It also creates the phrase "give them their head" meaning freedom to do what you want, because a rider would stop trying to control the horse's head with the reins and let it run freely.

  5. "JRPGs, especially when you've got a family, they're not as enjoyable as they once were because you just want to move through them"
    2 minutes later
"There was an hour and a half battle"

  6. Been playing Blossom Tales 2 which I've been really enjoying and AI: Somnium Files, which I'm not sure about yet lol. Also been dipping in and out of Dragon Quest XI again; first time since completing it 2 years ago, like slipping in to warm bath! I intend to just play it slowly and pick it up now and then whenever I feel the need to over several months. Playing that instead of Live A Live for some reason! Gotta play what you feel but would like to start it after completing at least one more game.

  7. I've been playing Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom. For a Kemco RPG, it's quite fun and smartly designed. Definitely one of their gems. I really appreciate how little it wastes my time and so many things makes logical sense. Not everything, mind you, but a lot of it is quite good.

  8. Xenoblade 3 releasing inspired me to finally play Xenoblade Definitive Edition, which I’ve had waiting for me for years. I’m always so intimidated to pick up a long game. But I’m enjoying it so much, I’m about 25 hours in. I also don’t quite get all aspects of the battle system…I just control Shulk and hope my AI teammates are using their Arts fine lmao. Eventually my goal is to play 2, the DLC, and then 3, but I’ll definitely be taking breaks between them and playing other games. These videos are really nice to listen to while I work, so thanks so much for them!

  9. Guys, if you love Turrican, you absolutely must check out GunlordX. It’s a port of a 2019 Dreamcast game and is absolutely a love letter to the series. It’s available on Switch and is the closest we’ll get to an official sequel.

  11. Games I've been playing recently:

    1. A Musical Story – I'm really enjoying this short rhythm game. It's not like other rhythm games where you just play songs, but it has a whole story between each chapter which is really engaging.
    2. Fe – 3D platformer, I've had my eye on for awhile, and finally bought it. Am enjoying it for the most part.
    3. Cuphead – Not really working through it, but have been playing some co-op with the kids. It is fun!

  12. Xenoblade Chronicle 3 is an absolute masterpiece. The Consul theme song is a BANGER. The characters are incredible, the story is engaging, and the combat is *chef's kiss*. I am in LOVE.

  13. Luigi's Mansion 3 is such a fun game, I absolutely love it! The only thing I wish was a little different was the amount of Gooigi needed for puzzles, could've been less and made it more enjoyable.

  14. Games to wait for a sale with Topdee and Toodee and maybe Turrican. So that will be more games I will have on my backlog. As I can't get my games caught up at the moment as I am playing 3 games at the moment well 4 and they are Lego Star Wars Skywalker saga just love the silly little humour in it. And then TMNT which is just reliving my youth in the arcade it is just so good. Then again another game from the arcade Donkey Kong but I play caravan mode which is just 5 minutes hi score chase. Then the normal version Donkey Kong.

  15. I recommend Luigi's Mansion 3 as a go to co-op game and one of the best looking on Switch. Love it.

14 hours into Xenoblade 3 and I couldn't agree more.

I am going to buy Voyage tonight. 100% up my alley and never would have heard about it so thank you boys!

  17. Turrican Anthology is a shame because the C64 versions are mission. Even the descriptiom by the publisher is wrong. Claims that Turrican was developed by Factor5 for the Amiga. The first two games were developed by Manfred Trenz at Rainbow Arts. Factor 5 did the Amiga Ports. Although part 2 was released a little earlier it's still a port. Manfred clearly stated that the C64 version is the original version. I grew up playing those two games on the C64. They among the best games on the system and it kinda hurts that they seem to be forgotten.
