Amazon New World MMO Open Beta is over! With pvp battles, pve expedition / dungeons, leveling, 50 vs 50 wars, weapon / siege weapon adjustments, profession changes and community content during the second beta! Our company Aeternum Eternal had a blast and held 3 territories throughout the open beta on the high population Valhalla server! I wanted to take the time to set down and talk about my thoughts on everything that changed in the open beta from the closed beta and all the patch notes that were covered between. I will tell you how everything felt to me personally and talk about weapons, leveling, siege weapons, professions, elite monster difficulty increases, and balance changes to loot and gold within the expeditions! I hope this helps give you a good idea of how the game is currently and what to look for on September 28th on launch! Amazon Game Studios has done a great job with this AAA title and we will have a great game in store for us!

I wonder what curveballs they will throw at launch to switch it up….
Really enjoying all of your content. But I sort of disagree about the cannons. Perhaps the balance should come in making them far more difficult to upgrade, or rate of fire being a long cooldown. But as far as damage… I'm sorry but if I get shot with a cannon, I expect to die. It's a cannon.
No I think its good a challenge to find everything to cook ect we got lots of time on release will figure things out and some achievements are probally linked with the cooking
I don’t pvp and don’t care about but so many people are constantly talking about it so how about this, you cant attack anyone higher or lower than two levels from your level! Your welcome, problem solved.
Didnt know you were the Governor of the guild we mercenaried for in the final war day. GGs!
How long did it take you to claim the first territory?
How long did it the other companies to claim one?
My /played was 3 days 1 hour.
Reached lvl 49 from lvl 25 just by life skill boosting and some town boards on the side.
All life skills above 100 except fishing and jewelry.
Actually made starmetal tools. All without any help.
Your point on life skills (professions) might be very bios. To reach lvl 100 doesn't take long.
I think cooking ingredients being all over the place is good. It makes the whole map matter.
Fishing being slow adds value. Because you can only fish in hotspots after reaching the level requirement.
3:56 you really need to start sorting your inventory by gear score and hold ctrl + s to quick salvage.
It's a pain to watch ;D
The one thing I noticed was how insanely OP tank life staff uses were .. they scaled amber down for the axe but still.. especially in the wars the healers absolutely dominated
Love your content, you got a discord we can join?
Why do you think you can't get your cooking pass 20 because of not having lemons and you can't do anything?
the 3v3 similar to Lost Ark with rankings would be amazing. It would be beneficial to tone down the leveling progress by about half, else the crafting portion of the game will be meaningless, or as you've stated, just to lvl your crafting up.
yeah agree with fishing quest .
Arcana lv up by crafting staff the same as weaponsmithing.
Cool video with lots of interesting thought!
Though, I think you should be careful with begging devs to increase resource gain from stuff like fishing/cooking just for the sake of being able to complete town board missions faster. You're looking at this from the perspective of someone who just wants to zerg to 60 and not taking into account normal players.
You're saying it yourself "Nobody wants to fish for 5 hours". Well, I've seen some pretty dedicated fishermen out there in Aeternum. What you're basically saying is that they should not be rewarded at all. Like it is now, fishing and cooking materials are pretty valuable and a good money maker. Partly because you have to go out of your way to get them. You're failing to see how this is actually a good thing for the game.
If every single town board quest was just a double click on the townboard to finish they might aswell remove them completely.
If you ask me they should make the easier quest town board quests HARDER. It would be a healthy change for people who focus more on trade skills instead of pve/pvp.
Just my 2 cents. I think you should be careful with throwing out a hundred suggestions without thinking about what you're really asking for. Making all townboard quests a point and click would be a terrible change imo.
I wouldn’t mind a healing nerf, but life staff should do more damage. If they don’t buff the damage then I don’t think it should be nerfed.
'when a guy can make a fresh character and is just as powerful as you'
This was never the case, higher level always had an advantage through gear perks and weapon masteries. If a level 20 kills a level 60 the level 60 deserved to lose, every time.
with arcana you just craft life staffs to level i personally dont bother with the potions
Jewelcrafting seemed to me the worst profession. It took me a lot of time to even find silver ore and when i did craft 10 basic silver rings i got 1 lvl of jewelcrafting. I think I'll skip that 1 at launch.
For me the cooking was great. I was over 100 cooking on day 1. And I loved, that I had to go to all the different zones to gather the stuff. Most ofd the other crafting stuff, you get right around each city. Cooking was fun for me as an explorer.
And I love the trading aspect of the materials; like gathering in First Light and sell it in Everfall etc.
I did mainly the cooking townboard quest and got a lot of EX from it and moreover it was a lot more fun than chopping 500 trees etc.
healing become weaker i think during dungeon
aim assist is available on every melee i think
Still the same terrible Character Creation?
I'm wondering if hatchet + ice gauntlet would be a thing. Gem the hatchet with ice damage so all the increased ice damage talents from the ice gaunt will apply to hatchet damage. Full int. Ice block + the final talent of the left hatchet tree, equip heavy armor. Seems pretty unkillable to me.
Cant wait for the leveling guide dude! Youre my go to for top tier information
Theres some sort of leveling glitch still in the game. The subreddit had a picture of a level 60 player with flint and starter gear only 12ish hours after launch. Obviously this implies the glitch is something you can do almost, if not, immediately.
I think pvp scaling should scale with the difficulty of the zone. For example, you can do pvp quests and flag in Windsward but the rewards are considerably less than somewhere like Brightwood. Maybe this would incentivize lower levels to stick to the zones they can handle while higher levels run amok in the harder zones.
In MMO, there SHOULD NOT be any META if possible. It steals away the creativity of players to explore other builds which makes the game more fun to play. Surprises are more FUN than PREDICTABLE builds. NO builds should rule them ALL! Balance MATTERS!
I disagree on the professions opinion. But I'm all about the crafting and harvesting. I think you lvl so fast with pvp and missions, and don't focus as much on harvesting and crafting. Which is cool but I loved that side and it went in line with me. I think its well balanced for the different styles of game play.
right on launch time (they started 1,5h before they said they will…) there was no queues at all on EU… but on day 2, there was one server with 1740ppl in queue, and eta for queue was 16hours 😀 so might be just that one server overpopulated, or some kind of bugs
also… I DO LIKE TO FISH FOR 5 hours… 100h playtime in cbt, 46 spent on fishing! D:
I really enjoyed the crafting and gathering. It felt like I was actually searching for mats. I liked that the crafts needed mats from different gathering profs and some even needed rare mats too. And different rarities of tools with different modifiers.
Would love to see a guide for duo or trio leveling combos. So what weapons pair nicely when playing to gether with your friends?
What region/server do you plan on playing on launch??
how are you ever going to get all the guides out in time?
the people demand guides Seth!
Played the open beta, I thought the spear had much more range as it kinda scaled down with certain enemies. Hoping for a SA or Sea server so I can buy the game.
I have nothing significant to say. Just adding a comment for the YouTube algorithm.
Cant wait for more content from you.
I have some questions according to what I watched in the video
1) Why are there only three skills (there will be more skills to use in higher levels)?
2) Why the skills' cooldowns are quite long time too?
3) Skill animation effects are not so great, but Amazon will improve the skill animations in the future? thank you.
Extra questions:
4) The guilds can build their own castle to defend their territory and how the territory expansion works at the faction?
5) How the open world castle siege works in New World?
6) Amazon had said before "We plan to make naval combat", so thy will add this feature in the future?
Regarding the siege stuff, you didnt mention that in the last patch notes they changed it so that armor rating is not ignored anymore. That's why they buffed damage a little bit to compensate
How do you know/find a good or best pvp server for the official full game launch? I want to pvp lots so I want to be a on a good pvp server!
people that are crying about getting killed by an actual cannon saying healing is OP in pvp is hilarious.
Leveling in this game is easy and quick, that's why raising skills will take long and it's harder. I think that's a good thing, you hit lev 60,max out skills at no time, run the dungeons available and then what?
No offence but, first time player doing amrine and I couldn't believe how easy it was. I can't imagine it was ever easier. Y'all live in this vacuum and it's funny asf to listen to you cry about some of these things.
