This was my 5th time coming to the show, and my first time running trains as part of a club. It was an amazing experience. I ended up picking up another ovr 6400 trash gon and some ttx boxcars from Aurora and Athearn and a bunch of parts cars.
you guys where in the mallory building. thats the building that had a working hump yard. there was a table there with 50 precent off athearn Genisis cars. amazing show i go every year.
LOLz…..you modern modelers got it made with what's available. In my days we had to wait 12 or 13 years for a GP60M and 10 years for a Dash8-40BW to be made.
Dangit! Spent all my money on tyco gondolas, frateschi tanks, frateschi G22 locomotives…my truck was in a accident and im sitting up in Detroit till i get a different truck….woulda love to have gone….when is the next show?
the thing about manufacturers announcements sometimes you just don't get locos, or freight cars that suit your era…..and sometimes you get a tsunami of releases you need all at once!
Hi Dan. I've enjoyed your videos for years. Thanks for sharing your techniques. You mentioned Micron pens for your small graffiti tags. What pen brand and tip size do you use? Is there a product id you could share?
Also, I understand about knowing what to buy and what to leave behind at shows. I've passed on things that I've regretted and bought things that I ended up selling. You got some excellent deals!
Dang I was looking for a new orleans public belt car. You must have beat me to it.
If thats one of the ones you are thinking of selling once you're done with it let me know. Ive got reference photos for one that showed up on the Finger Lakes i want to have on the layout.
You guys are so lucky in EU those cars cost 3 to 4 times more
