🌎 “Travelers” tells an open-format version of The Hero’s Journey, taking a small group of adventurers from their home town on trains, ships, submarines, hikes, flying machines, and ultimately climbing to a literal mountain peak to achieve an unspecified goal. Along the way, our traveling party encounters friendly strangers, subterranean monsters, airship captains, and a tavern in the middle of nowhere.

🎵 Listen for themes borrowed and modified throughout the album, including the “Travelers” melody from Outer Wilds, the ostinato from “See You at the Top”, the Super Metroid radio signal, and the “Octopath Traveler” motif.

🎁 Special thanks to Alan Malunao Jr., Brian Mathew Kohlhoff, Brian Simmons, Jake Cecil (ocean recording for “Jib Jig” at Torrey Pines State Park), Courtney Danner (original Airship Overdrive logo and design), Paul Aubry, Eric William “rainbowdragoneyes” Brown, Katrena Laney, and everyone who supports local live music.

🎸 All pitched parts were performed and recorded 100% live on guitar and bass by Ryan Laney through a variety of effects pedals with minimal post-production editing.
