BREAKING: Joe Brady WITHDRAWS from Saints Coaching Search | James Skrmetta Reacts

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: The New Orleans Saints’ head coaching search just took a major turn as Buffalo Bills OC Joe Brady has withdrawn from consideration! James Skrmetta reacts to the shocking news and what it means for the Saints’ coaching future.

Brady was set for a second interview with the Saints, but according to Ian Rapoport, he has decided to remain in Buffalo as the Bills’ offensive coordinator. With Josh Allen and a high-powered offense, it makes sense for Brady to stay, especially with Buffalo reaching the AFC Championship Game this season.

Now, the Saints must shift their focus to other candidates. The team has already interviewed:
🔥 Anthony Weaver (Dolphins DC)
🔥 Mike Kafka (Giants OC)
Upcoming interviews include:
⚡ Mike McCarthy (Former Cowboys HC)
⚡ Kellen Moore (Eagles OC)

👀 Who should the Saints hire? Is this a blessing in disguise or a huge loss? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

  1. Guys jumping at the first opening is a mistake sometimes, Sean Payton passed on the Raiders the year before Mike McCarthy got the Green Bay job over him and he end up taking the Saints job but I think waiting for the perfect situation are better situation like Kirby Smart did in college. For instance Kirby turned down a bunch of jobs until Georgia opened up, but I doubt the Saints were going Joe Brady anyway, it kind of feels like there was always some bad blood there kinda like the Mannings , I just find it funny the teams are always picking from a list that the media or league puts out. I don’t know where these lists come from of favorites, but teams with openings always pick from that list or at least 90 percent of the time, there have got to be more qualify coaches then some of them on these list they come out every year

  2. This is absolutely just how bleak the outlook is for this organization. If it was just Brady betting on himself he would try and get the Saints job. But no, he saw how incredibly bad off the Saints are and backed out. And I don’t blame him one bit. Get Loomis out of here

  3. Bucs OC said no to the jags head coaching job, then the GM gets fired and he takes the job🤔 loomis might be the reason why nobody wants to take the job. Rizzi is back as head coach, but who's the DC and OC? we all saw how bad the season was. The injuries hurt the team, but come on, the lions still made the playoffs with 20 players on IR

  4. No intelligent person is surprised by this.

But 95% of Saints fans are baffled.

What do you expect to get when all you have to offer to attract is Derek Carr and a JV roster of nothing.

Brady barely has 20 games as an OC, with Josh Allen propping him up. He was trash in Carolina.

  5. Im a bit relieved. I wasn't excited for Joe Brady. I still have that bad taste from when he was on Carolina and got dumped mid season. Obviously he is a different individual now but it doesn't seem like he wants to be in NOLA. Rizzi wants to be here and while its not sexy the next year at least is not going to be pretty for any coach so why not give Rizzi the chance?

  6. It’s so crazy, but I called it for a long time. Joe Brady is a year away from being a year of the next hot HC. I think Brady knows it himself. It’s funny seeing people cry and spit up all over their keyboards when it really ain’t about the saints.

  7. Next year will be awful. The next coach can be sacrificial… or not. Either way the Saints will be in great position in 2026 w a top pick in a gold QB year, a workable cap position after a lot of expired contracts, to sign FAs. Just make sure to eliminate candidates that wouldn't take an interview.

  8. I strongly disagree that this situation is not about the Saints. The HC spot on New Orleans is the less desirable on the league. Old roster, cap hell, doubts on the QB, delusional GM…

About Joe Brady and young OCs/DCs: Of course you’ll never know if they can be good head coaches unless they got a chance. The Saints are not going to win next year, and the next one, so what difference makes hiring a young OC/DC, and let he build his system, build a culture? The only experienced candidate is Mike McCarthy, and he’s outdated (besides, his last good record was because of Kellen Moore).

Rizzi is not going to take this team to another level, but he can make the roster happy until a really good option appears (since Brady and Glenn turned out on the Saints).

  9. I dont think any coaching candidate want the HC job in New Orleans more than Rizzi. So why not hire him? He'll definitely give us 100% commitment and passion as HC. Plus the players love him. He'll maximize the efforts from the players on the roster.

  10. You came down on AG for not wanting Loomis.. but it's looking like others don't want to coach here cause loomis has put the saints in a situation that we can't bring in free agents cause of cap hell
