  2. Hey, y'all. From Tennessee, currently living in Kentucky. Personally, I'd have cut the potatoes to 1/2" and added some diced onion to the peppers. Dribble a little salsa or hot sauce over it.

  3. Everybody does it differently! find the way you like best. generally I don't have much time to cook my food so I wash my potatoes, dice them into small cubes (the smaller the quicker it cooks), and fry my potatoes in olive oil or butter. salt, pepper, onion powder a pinch of garlic powder. after that's cooked or nearly soft, add sausage (or any meat) cook with potatoes till all cooked, add egg and cheese last. add salsa or Louisiana hot sauce near the end. you can buy a tortilla warmer online to heat in microwave. if not take a gallon ziploc bag wrap with kitchen towel over it, place tortillas in bag and heat for 20-30 seconds in microwave (with ziplog bag left open). and I only use one pan, so it's quick clean-up.

  4. Before you roll it up pour some chunky salsa on it and it makes it even more amazing. You mentioned not wanting another flavor but I believe you would enjoy it even more and it adds a little moisture to it as well.

  5. Watching you cook that made me hungry. That means you did a really good job! I may do some of these for dinner tonight (yes, we sometimes have breakfast for dinner).

There's no wrong way to make a breakfast wrap/burrito/taco. Just add the things you like and enjoy! Personally, I like sauteed onions with bell peppers and some sort of salsa or hot sauce lightly drizzled on the contents before wrapping it up. Also, cooking the eggs separately is something I prefer to do.

  6. It's a bit of a basic burrito. Potato should definitely be smaller like quarter inch. Crispy Chorizo gives a better flavor but egg should be the main character. Mix in some salsa Verde or pico de Gallo and sour cream and or guacamole. Or smother it with green or red Chile and eat it with a fork and knife

  7. Looks great! I might have scrambled the eggs separately and cut the potatoes smaller, and yes, I would have added a salsa verde or pico de gallo. My guy really, really dislikes any combination of egg and tortilla together so we don't make these. Hot breakfast using eggs means a western omelet and hot Sauce- Crystal's or Louisiana Hot Sauce- is always optional on the side. (Sorry I missed the live! There was playoff football happening)

  8. The difference between a taco and a burrito:
Tacos are smaller, open-faced, and often use corn tortillas. Tacs typically have fewer and simpler fillings.
Burritos are larger, rolled, and typically use flour tortillas. Burritos typically have more and sometimes complex fillings.

  9. Sunday evening, our family makes a batch of “breakfast” burritos for lunch the next two days. Mr. H can make a few, wrap well and take them for lunch or the morning commute. Thanks for the share.

  10. A tip for your next burrito recipe. Heat up the tortillas on an open flame or griddle until there is a tiny bit of color on them. It makes the tortilla more pliable and actually improves the flavor of the tortilla. Also, there is usually some kind of salsa (red or green) to go in the breakfast burrito.

  11. You need to try quesobirria. It's a cross between a quesadilla and a taco made from a delicious chili-pepper-stewed meat (traditionally goat but beef is way more popular in the US).

And since it came up in the beginning of the video, the difference between tacos and burritos comes down to pretty much how the tortilla is folded, although burritos tend to almost always be in flour tortillas and for the sake of practicality, usually use much larger tortillas. Tacos use anything from tiny to medium tortillas and in Mexico, it's largely a regional thing as to whether they're flour or corn (comes down to what grows where. But for some reason Americans tend to think of corn as more authentic. This American recognizes both as authentic but just finds corn a little more delicious)

  12. Ain't no rules for breakfast burritos.
    flour tortilla
tortilla chips crumbled up and tossed inside
    pickled jalapenos
    fresh jalapenos
    fresh onions
    grilled onions
    bell peppers
    cayenne
    eggs
    bacon
    sausage
    tomato salsa
    tomatillo salsa
    black beans
    refried beans
    corn
    cheddar
    Oaxaca
    feta
    cotija
    sour cream

    salt
    pepper
    lime juice
    tomatoes
    avocado
    guacamole
    hash browns
    fries
    potatoes
    chicken
    beef
    fajita steak
    barbacoa
    carnitas
    chicharrones
    birria
    chorizo
    tinga
    carne asada
    al pastor
    brisket
    queso
    hot sauce
    cilantro
    cilantro lime rice
    Mexican rice
    etc etc etc….

Pick like 5 of these things and it'll probably be good.
The more different things you can cram on there, the better, honestly.
Choose a meat, a dairy, a potato, a sauce, a bean, a pepper, a veggie and a rice, and you're good to go.
Still got space? Keep running through the categories til you can't jam any more in the tortilla.

I come from the land of breakfast burritos.

  13. Americans generally put either hot sauce or ketchup on just about anything that doesn't get mustard, bbq, or ranch. I, myself, put hot sauce on my breakfast burritos. Salsa is another common one. Definitely would add some sort of sauce.

  14. My personal suggestion! Homemade tortillas are not terribly difficult and are an absolute game changer with the flavor. Second suggestion, make a ton of those and put them in the freezer for fast and tasty breakfast when you're in a hurry — simply microwave one for a couple minutes, maybe toast it in the pan for a second to crisp up the tortilla, and it is good as fresh 😉

There are loads of different ways to make a breakfast burrito, and most of them are delicious 😂 my favorite is a Machacado burrito. Cheers!

  15. Tacos corn tortillas (not hard shell like Taco Bell) burritos where flour tortillas. You could go into a Mexican restaurant and buy the flour tortillas buy a dozen. They were huge. Made with lard. They made their own tortillas.
