How to Harness the Power of One More to Transform Your Life

How Your Greatest Challenges Can Shape Your Legacy

What if the very messes you’ve faced in life—your mistakes, setbacks, and darkest moments—are actually your greatest qualifications to create impact and help others? In this episode, I reflect on this transformative idea with stories from some incredible guests: Jon Gordon, Jamie Kern Lima, Ryan Hawk, and Lewis Howes. Together, we explore what it truly means to harness the “power of one more” and use it to transform not only your life but the lives of those around you.

I share intimate stories about my father’s journey from addiction to becoming a quiet force of redemption for others. Jon opens up about being an imperfect parent and finding forgiveness in change. Jamie dives into how staying connected to your dreams fuels creativity, and Ryan and Lewis reveal how intention and belief shape real leadership. These conversations remind us that leadership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about showing up fully, embracing your story, and helping others see the greatness in themselves.

You’ll leave this episode with not just inspiration but actionable tools to live with deeper intention, break free from limiting beliefs, and understand how the ripple effect of your actions could create a legacy you’d be proud of.

Key Takeaways:
– Why your most difficult experiences might be your greatest tools for impact.
– The “power of one more” mindset: how it creates momentum and transforms lives.
– How to operate from imagination and dreams rather than memory and history.
– The essence of leadership: crafting a vision big enough for others to find their dreams within it.
– The importance of forgiving yourself and others to unlock deeper growth.

No matter where you are in your journey, this episode will challenge you to embrace your imperfections and use them to create something extraordinary. Let’s start writing the best chapters of your life—starting now.

  1. Powerful ☝🏼✝️☝🏼

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

  2. i know this is kinda off-topic, but i kept seeing comments about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki in videos like this, and i finally decided to read it. honestly, it’s one of those books where you don’t realize how much it’s helping until you start noticing people treating you differently. it’s like the book shows you how to unlock a version of yourself you didn’t even know was there. subtle, but so effective.

  3. i know this isn’t what the video’s about, but i had to mention how i kept seeing Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki in comments everywhere. curiosity got the better of me, and i finally read it. it’s wild how much it changes your mindset and the way you come across to others. it’s not about pretending to be confident—it’s about genuinely building that energy so it shows naturally. definitely worth all the buzz it’s been getting.

  4. this might be a bit unrelated, but i kept seeing Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki popping up in comments everywhere, so i decided to check it out. the book’s all about working on your energy and presence, and it’s way more practical than i expected. after applying what it teaches, i’ve noticed people are more drawn to me, and i feel more confident without trying too hard. it’s been such a low-key but powerful shift

  5. I tend to lack imagination due to strict upbringing, my best friend was full of imagination , which made me gravitate toward her . I dream at night but they are dark dreams . Would love to tap into my imagination …something I would think takes practice .

  6. It takes strength in vulnerability , being authentic . Having hope is huge , not idolization I think that is most humbling . Self confidence is important , that what you have to offer in a conversation is valuable . Something I need to work on … learning from others who challenge your perspectives . We are all unique and have something to contribute . I’m learning this about myself as well.

  8. THIS was by far, one of your absolute best videos!! Jamie got absolutely every part of Ed Mylett out of you. The fact that she hit you in such a way that it stirred up emotions enough to get your choked up… THAT was powerful. She had some amazingly really good questions too. I only wish she had brought her personal book that she has highlighted and marked up – THAT would have been interesting to see and hear what she marked and why.

  9. Hi Ed, great job love your openness and vulnerability to share your story. At 21:15 seconds you mentioned there is books that you would recommend for your faith. Could you share what books those would be? Thank you in advance and God bless.

  10. WoW!!! Thank you so much for this! I have been holding back and sitting on an idea for over 5 years now, even though I have help a few people along the way. I wrote a book years ago that I never published and I can only imagine the people it would impact! I love the way you put things! Out of the few people I have help with my story, I still get phones calls now thanking me for what I did for them. I have decided to do what it takes to start sharing! I have realized I am that one person for people struggling like I did! Thank you and I always look forward to hearing what you have to say!

  11. From pg 4 of The Power of One More: "I've lived with not having the answers. Even worse, I've also been in places where I didn't know what paths to take to find the answers I so desperately sought." How did you find the answers? How did you figure out which paths to take to find the answers?
