Rahul Sen | Psychoanalysis and Reading | LECTURE 2025



This introductory lecture on Psychoanalysis will focus on the importance of language, and the practice of close-reading that are central to the field. This lecture hopes to demonstrate the various points of departures and convergences between Psychoanalysis and the clinical practices of Ego-psychology.
Rahul Sen is a PhD candidate in the Department of English at Tufts University. His areas of interest include psychoanalysis, queer theory, literary studies, and cinema studies. His dissertation focuses on the question of literary and cinematic “forms” and its interaction with idioms of desire. Rahul’s writings have appeared on several national and international journals, news portals, and websites. In 2023, he co-edited a book, Queers in Quarantine, which is an anthology of fiction, non-fiction, and artwork, by queer artists from across the world.
