Ube looks like an ice cream sandwich made with gelato instead of ice cream.
This looks great
I love ube. I wish it wasn't so hard to find in my part of the world. All you Filipinos living in Texas : do you think it will grow here? I have some nice sandy soil. Suitable for peanuts and melons.
โคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโค
Proud Filipino here
Uy! PILIPPINES!
my mother taught me that taro is "gabi" and " ube " is purple yam. different from purple sweet potatoes
Ube for Yoube.. Whadduya think about Ube?
the italians put all this emphasis into codifying specific food dishes to create the idea that it isn't a completely corrupt country that has mafia's that follow zero rules lol
We already have like 9 different versions of that in the United States, noodles/pasta are Chinese and tomatoes are native to the Americas, Italians need to take a step back and reevaluate lol
FILIPINOS LEFT THE CHAT…..
Ube and Taro are not the same. But for all intents and purposes… yes ๐ Purple sweet root
It's PURPLE YAM, Ollie. It's a very common and famous flavor here in the philippines
Americans would put the ube ice cream in a donut not bread.
Although they are NOT the same thing, chances are, if you like one, you will also enjoy the other ๐
I've always felt they have a mild & comforting quality reminiscent of something vanilla-esque ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Regardless, both ube & taro are scrumptious. Can't recall anyone telling me they dislike them either ๐ค
I loved eating dirty ice cream in bread as a kid in the Philippines!
Its so weird that an italian is introducing you to a traditional FILIPINO food๐๐
Funny thing is that Ollie was not a fan of ube (their video on Filipino snacks.) good thing he likes that ube ice cream
Why are Italians so pretentious about food
Deep fried ice creame….usa been doing that at arkansa fairs ๐
This place also has a warm ube brownie with a scope of that ube ice cream. 100000% RECOMMEND!
โItalians love a ruleโ translation: Italians love to be annoying
In brunei the purple yam is called UBI
Ube and taro taste pretty damn similar
Not letting ppl call gelato gelato is such a gatekeeping bitch move
Ube is Filipino Purple Yam, Taro in Tagalog is Gabi …
Why would anyone listen to anything Italians say ? They were Hitler's allies in WW II
Try Elm Street Diner in Stanford Connecticut.
we love ube in hawaii ๐คฉ๐
Go to jollibee and get an ube pie instead of peach mango pie
Bring korean englishman to boracay and try the food
It is a little odd that two Brits and an Italian basically are talking about a more upscale version of dirty ice cream and monay with no background in Filipino food. ๐
