“The Tomb” releases in less than a day, and I have thoughts! Between the map layout, the new Electric Mimic, Ice Staff, Death Perception and SO much more coming in Season 2, what should you expect?

  1. I'm keeping my expectations for "The Tomb" as kind of middle of the road. I've really liked all the maps in BO6! Some for different reasons. I don't expect this map to blow me away, or for it to be the best map ever.

    My current ranking:
    1. Citadelle
    2. Terminus
    3. Liberty Falls

Based off Treyarch's wording my highest hopes is that it fits in somewhere between 2 or 3 for me. I think at best "The Tomb" will be a fun map for either high rounds, camo grinding, or side easter eggs which is what I like Liberty Falls for. I'll be honest as a Origins fan it's kind of disappointing that they're just bring back the Ice Staff which is my favorite wonder weapon of all time, just to use it in a small map just to tide us over rather than an actual fun map that stands on its own!

I'm abslutely not excited for the electric mimic and for the amalgam returning. I'm okay with the dopplegast coming back just because it's only been used once and because they're actually really easy to deal with. I really dislike the Amalgams. The Mimics are just so overdone like the Mangler. At this point if Treyarch really is out of ideas for bosses, I wouldn't mind the Panzer or the Margwa coming back since it's been a while since we had those.

Yeah I'm sorry but I'm not excited for Death Perception, I'm hoping it's surprisingly powerful but as it has been in the past it's mid.

  2. 32:00 you make some great points about how zombies used to be where every map was like its own game mode. I completely think that’s why they changed the structure of the game because now the casual fan of call of duty can just hop on and play the game without having to go on YouTube and learn about a specific nap which even I had to do as an experienced zombies player who is really good.

  3. 24:40 I've been thinking that exact thing about Perkaholic. It does seem weird having it be valued so highly by the game now. In BO3 it made sense because not only was is giving you all the perks at once, it was also getting you those perks past the perk limit all at once, for free. Now with BO6, yes it still saves you a lot of points and it gives you the perks immediately but I find I don't care about having all the perks as much anymore because as long as I buy the 5-6 I absolutely need, the rest I'm okay with waiting till late game if I need to so using a perkaholic now feels a little less crazy, it's pretty much just a huge point saver now and that's it.

  4. 33:00 With the on-screen prompts for things like turning on power, I wish there was a setting that would allow us to turn that stuff off, at least so then on our first time playing the map if we want to, we can get the old experience of discovering/exploring a map on our own for the first time, without the game spelling everything out for us. That way the people that do want the help can still have it.

  5. 36:50 I concur to what that person said 🤣I've been playing zombies since the beginning, and I always find it funny this past few games whenever I've been playing CW or BO6 now, and then I go back to BO2 and BO3 (my favorite zombies games) I always end up having a game or two of dying early and having to readjust and remind myself of the ways those older games were more challenging.

  6. I’m ready to start grinding nebula! Your camp tracker was SO HELPFUL! Thank you so much! And either way I’m excited for the tomb idc what everyone says and they’re saying it’s not gonna be good cause it’s “like liberty falls” but I quite enjoy liberty falls and I play it with my casual friends all the time but we also play both the other maps. I think it’s gonna be good. Every map has been good

  7. Sudden idea I got while listening:
What if Mule Kick basically gave you a backpack ?
I know it sounds stupid considering this year's overall design choices but hey, at this point everything goes !

  8. When I think casual map I think Ancient Evil. Very small, little to no side quests, and very simple wonder weapon quests. However, the story, easter egg, and more are all exceptional. I think Ancient Evil, despite not being a favorite of mine, should be looked at as the blueprint for a map that both casual and hardcore players can love

  9. I do fear that the Tomb may not have a unique map mechanic however I do think that Terminus has a very unique map mechanic that I love and that is the water and tactical raft so I don’t think they’re afraid of it. And Citadelle has their mechanic on elemental gadgets that are not primary or secondary. We have elemental melee weapons that take your melee slot and you have elemental tacticals. Which is think is great and good enough to be a unique map mechanic. There’s a leak that the ice staff might have multiple upgrades so that might be something or maybe there will be something unique in the dark aether which will probably be something we have to see

  10. I don’t expect them to do this but it’d be cool if the tomb’s easter egg required you to do citadelle’s easter egg to get the amulet, kinda like moon in bo1 where you had to do every easter egg before it i believe

  11. 6:05 you can upgrade it btw, in the trailer you can see two shots where in one of them the player holds the regular ice staff and another when where the player hold’s the upgraded ice staff with the blades and stuff. Unless it’s a weird continuity error then it’s pretty much confirmed to be upgradeable
