Doctor Who Rescored: The Waters of Mars – “The Laws of Time Pt. I”

An original composition from my rescore of the Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars.

The entire score comes to a head. It begins with a sorrowful wailing from the orchestra as Bowie Base falls apart, but quiets in favor of the first half of my Tenth Doctor theme. It’s split down the middle and almost uncertain. Then, the ‘foiling the plot’ leitmotif swoops in with full brass and chorus as the Doctor returns to help. After Andy’s knocks on the door, a string staccato leitmotif from my 2018 Bad Wolf rescore makes a surprise return briefly before the chorus returns to belt out more of the Tenth Doctor and ‘Downpour’ leitmotifs.
