Claxton Bay man killed by cops; AR-15 assault rifle recovered in Claxton Bay.
Police shot and killed a man during an incident on Dump Road in Claxton Bay on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Officers said that following the shooting, they found and seized a loaded AR-15 rifle inside a vehicle driven by Miguel Hernandez of Hill Top Drive, Claxton Bay.
Around 9 p.m., police said they received information about men armed with guns inside a blue pickup truck.
Officers said they attempted to intercept the vehicle, and shots were fired.
Hernandez was discovered inside the vehicle with gunshot injuries to his body. He was taken to the Couva District Health Facility, where he was declared dead.
