It makes sense where the skytrax scam allegations are coming from. If an airline buys skytrax consulting services then skytrax has a conflict of interest to give them a higher rating, otherwise what did the airline pay them for.
6:47 It's actually not the exact same seat. But one could say the fundamentals are similar. Both seats are made by Stelia Aerospace, however Garuda opted for the lower end Opal seats that are focused on being compact and space efficient (only other airlines that use this seat are Air Calin and Air Senegal on their A330neos), while SQ opted for the higher end Symphony seats (Turkish also use this seat, but SQ solely use this seat for regional flying within Asia Pacific). Suggestion for Garuda: they could have kept consistent and kept using the Super Diamond seats for business on the A330neos, only reason why they swapped it out is so to give a more brand new feel to the plane (I guess).

Why Garuda to this day have yet to reconfigure their legacy planes despite being able to ink up collaborations with Pokémon (I actually like the Pikachu Jet GA1, and they're going to have a 2nd one soon on one of their A330s) and others? Money maybe? They're government owned, jeez.

I’m a little disappointed at the airline. They call themselves Garuda but at no time did I hear electronic music playing or strobe lights going off. If you name your airline after a record label from renowned DJ Gareth Emery, you should at least maintain that brand standard

I've been to CGK's Garuda lounge too and it was disappointing (Plaza Premium Lounge is definitely better)n but they recently refreshed it on the further side (mezzanine) of the lounge. Not sure if it's just that area operating now or both. Garuda itself has been on a survival mode ever since it's almost-bankruptcy in 2022 (that was led by several corruption scandals), not sure how/if they'll ever gonna recover.

The award that disillusioned me to SkyTrax was their Inflight Entertainment Award – United was 6th!! Last I remember, I couldnt find a single whole box set on United, let alone a vast selection of titles. Unbelievable
16:43 I suppose the 2-2-2 business class seats are reserved for domestic flights, like those from Bali to Jakarta. And the 1-2-1s are for longer flights like those to Sydney and Seoul.

I thought the Garuda International Lounge at DPS was sad until I went to the Garuda Flagship lounge at Jakarta flying back to Melb, someone else in the Lounge did ask for a beer and was given a room temp can. Luckily the service on the flights makes up for the lounge issues at their home port.
My friend had similar transit experience in Bali. I had a through ticket but his was a separate booking. The tranfer guy ended up just taking his passport and checking in for him and brought it back with the boarding pass. He also had no checked baggage. They're so helpful but it probably just depends who you get.
